Contract management is a key management skill, yet it is underplayed in most organizations, which usually default to project management skills as a proxy for contract management skills. Whilst project management skills are equally essential, they are not the same thing. Contract Management looks at the wider contract management picture from an industrial-commercial perspective, and helps set-out typical structures and processes that assist the contract management task. The author uses diagramatic representations to depict complex ideas. Contract Management includes "learning points" in each chapter, looking at handling problems, procedural changes and enhancing commercial performance.

This book discusses the principles and rules of general contract law in England & Wales. It examines the key points and rules of contract law, starting with the formation of the contract and ending with the remedies for breach of contract. In this it follows the structure most used in contract law modules at universities. Please also note that this book takes into account developments of the law up until July 2021. Contract law is a core module in legal higher education in the UK. Contract law is also an important basis for many other law modules including maritime law, company law, commercial law, and arbitration law. This book gives a clear oversight of the main issues of key contract law topics. It summarises the issues in a concise and precise manner and uses practical examples throughout to clarify how the law is applied. Key cases are used to explain and illustrate the principles of the law. This book is an ideal companion guide for exam revisions. The chapters follow a question-and-answer model that makes it easy to find information on a specific issue. The chapters end with a problem-solving scenario on key issues of the topic and a list with key cases which will be helpful in preparing for examinations. At the end of the book, you find a further reading list and a set of sample multiple-choice questions which can be used to help prepare for the first stage of the SQE examination that will be introduced in September 2021. “Contract Law is generally taught as a first-year subject which could be a daunting subject. This book helps students to revise this subject effectively as it brings together all key areas of contract law that a student should be familiar with when preparing for examinations, drafting coursework, and preparing for seminars. It examines the key points and rules of contract law, starting with the formation of the contract and ending with the remedies for breach of contract. The book is written in plain language in the form of questions and answers. It is detailed without being too long, succinct but covers all key cases and developments in the area. The multiple-choice questions at the end of the book are very beneficial for students preparing for the SQE and exams that follow a similar format. The Fidic Forms Of Contract written by Nael G. Bunni and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-02-05 with Law categories.

In September 1999, FIDIC introduced its new Suite of Contracts, which included a “new” Red, Yellow, Silver and Green forms of contract. The “new” Red Book was intended to replace the 1992 fourth edition of the Red Book, with the ambition that its use would cease with time. This ambition has not materialised and is unlikely to do so in the future. Despite the importance of the 1999 Forms, there has been very little published on the new concepts adopted in them and how they interact with the previous forms. This important work considers these aspects together with the many developments affecting the fourth edition of the Red Book that have taken place since 1997, when the second edition of this book was published, and relates them to key contracting issues. It is written by a chartered engineer, conciliator and international arbitrator with wide experience in the use of the FIDIC Forms and in the various dispute resolution mechanisms specified in them. Important features of this book include: · background and concepts of the various forms of contract; · a detailed comparison of the wording of the1999 three main forms, which although similar in nature; it nevertheless significantly differs in certain areas where the three forms diverge due to their intended purpose; · analysis of the rights and obligations of the parties involved in the contract and the allocation of risks concerned; · a range of ‘decision tree’ charts, analysing the main features of the 1992 Red Book, including risks, indemnities and insurances, claims and counterclaims, variations, procedure for claims, programme and delay, suspension, payments and certificates, dispute resolution mechanisms, and dispute boards; · a much enlarged discussion of the meaning of “claim” and “dispute” and the types of claim with a discussion of the Notice provision in the 1999 forms of contract for the submittal of claims by a contractor and by an employer; · the FIDIC scheme of indemnities and insurance requirements; and the methods of dispute resolution provided by the various forms of contract; and · five new chapters in this third edition, the first four chapters deal with each of the 1999 forms and the fifth chapter is confined to the topic of Dispute Boards.

In a text that originally formed the opening chapter to Butterworths Common Law Series--The Law of Contract, Roger Brownsword explores the key themes of contract law as it enters the twenty-first century. The positive critical response to his in-depth discussion of a number of issues, including the range of classical and modern influences over the current law, has led to this publication of the chapter as a book.
