Karena iman memiliki beberapa syarat, sehingga orang yang memilikinya patut mendapat sebutan orang Mukmin. Jangan kira kalau seseorang sudah mengucapkan syahadatain, tanpa amal, tanpa ketaatan dan tanpa qurbah, atau bahkan sebaliknya, ia melakukan dosa & kedurhakaan, maka dia akan mendapat jaminan surga tanpa hisab. Toh orang munafik pun, yang kelak berada di tingkatan paling bawah dari neraka, juga dapat melakukannya. Jangan terkecoh oleh seseorang yang fasih-kaatanya, yang menyandang sebutan ulama atau kiai di tengah komunitasnya, tapi imannya di sisi Allah ternoda. Sebab boleh jadi dia hanya layak menyandang sebutan Muslim dan tidak patut menyandang sebutan Mukmin. Jelasnya, setiap Mukmin disebut orang Muslim, namun tidak setiap Muslim disebut orang Mukmin. Lebih jelasnya lagi, iman memiliki permulaan dan kesempurnaan, memiliki zhahir dan batin. Masing-masing dari dua unsur ini tidak lepas dari ikatan yang harus diperhatikan. Kitab ini termasuk salah satu karya lbnu Taimiyah yang kesohor, karena di dalamnya diuraikan banyak hal berkaitan dengan masalah iman dan Islam, kekufuran dan kemunafikan, dan perbedaan pendapat di antara berbagai golongan dari ulama seputar masalah-masalah ini.
