For the public at large Shi’ism often implies a host of confused representations, suggesting more often than not obscurantism, intolerance, political violence and other ignominies running hot or cold in response to world events. Diterbitkan ulang oleh Rumah Ilmu, Buttulamba, Desa Pasiang, Kecamatan Matakali, Kabupaten Polman, Sulawesi Barat Edisi Pertama: 2 Agustus 2018 **** Lahirnya filsafat Mulla Sadra yang dikenal sebagai al-Hikmah al-Muta’aliyah dianggap sebagai kelahiran filsafat Islam yang sebenarnya. Alasannya adalah, Mulla Sadra telah meninggalkan “Yunani” oriented dalam bangunan filsafatnya dengan merujukkan keseluruhan pandangan-pandangannya murni kepada ajaran Islam. Bahkan, setelah Mulla Sadra, sejarah filsafat Islam sudah tidak lagi melahirkan sistem filsafat baru sebagaimana lahirnya mazhab al-Isyraq Suhrawardi dan al-Hikmah al-Muta’aliyah-nya Mulla Sadra sampai sekarang ini. Pada masa-masa selanjutnya, filsafat Islam lebih banyak mengembangkan pemikiran Mulla Sadra. Dari pensyarah pemikiran Mulla Sadra, yang paling terkenal adalah Mulla Hadi Sabzawari (1797/8-1878) dalam karyanya Syarh al-Manzumah serta ‘Allamah Thabathaba’i yang memberikan anotasi terhadap kitab al-Asfar dalam sembilan volume. Dari Allamah Thabathaba’i inilah lahir beberapa pensyarah pemikiran Mulla Sadra yang memiliki pengaruh besar sampai saat ini, seperti Imam Khomeini (1901-1989), Murthada Muthahhari (1920-1979) yang juga mensyarah kembali Syarh al-Manzumah-nya Sabzawari, Mahdi Ha’iri Yazdi dan lain-lain. Perkembangan filsafat Mulla Sadra selanjutnya, yang sekarang menjadi subjek kajian utama di pusat-pusat pengajaran tradisional di Iran, telah melahirkan satu kelompok baru yang disebut filsafat mazhab Qum. Tidak bisa dipungkiri, filsafat Mulla Sadra telah mencapai puncak pemikiran filsafat Islam yang menjadi kekayaan Islam sepanjang sejarah. Mulla Sadra telah berhasil mempertemukan semua mata air keilmuan Islam pada muara filsafat hikmah yang disebut oleh Henry Corbin sebagai “prophetic philosophy” (filsafat yang bersumber dari sumur kenabian). Namun sayangnya, pemikiran Mulla Sadra belum banyak dikenal dan dieksplorasi, khususnya dalam wacana filsafat dan keilmuan di Indonesia. Saat ini, kebanyakan tulisan hanya memuat penggalan-penggalan kecil dari doktrin-doktrin filosofis Mulla Sadra yang begitu luas, sementara belum ada penjelasan yang dianggap bisa memperkenalkan ajaran Mulla Sadra sebagaimana mestinya.
