In der Einleitung ist ferner die Bedeutung und die Aktualit t von Kommunikation enthalten. Dies ist notwendig um einen kurzen Gesamt berblick ber die Thematik zu erhalten und die umfangreiche Komplexit t darzustellen. Im folgenden Kapitel "Grunds tzliches zu Kommunikation" wird versucht durch einen kurzen berblick ber Definition, Begriffserkl rung und Kommunikationsklassifizierungen, in die Thematik einzuleiten. Konkretes Hauptaugenmerk f llt auf die weiterf hrenden Kommunikationsmodelle die den klassischen Kommunikationsablauf erg nzen, und anhand dieser relevante Grundbegriffe erkl rt werden. Das vierte Kapitel "Kommunikation im Umwelt- bzw. Nachhaltigkeitsdiskurs" versucht neben einem kurzen Einblick in die Materie der Umweltkommunikation auch konkrete Ansatzpunkte zur Umsetzung dieser zu geben. Hierbei sei festgestellt, dass eine nachhaltigkeitsorientierte Umweltkommunikation nur dann erfolgreich ist, wenn sie auf milieuspezifische Gruppen abzielt. Die unterschiedlichen Schaupl tze von Umweltkommunikation bilden den vierten Teil der Arbeit, der die einzelnen Akteure und Saboteure der Nachhaltigkeit erl utert. Konkret werden hierbei Beispiele aus der Wirtschaft gegeben, die sowohl nachhaltige als auch nicht-nachhaltige Kommunikation aufzeigen. Den Schluss bildet ein Gesamt berblick ber die Thematik, der den Prozess der Kommunikation als ein Komplexes darstellt, dessen spezielle Form einer nachhaltigkeitsorientierten Umweltkommunikation eine besondere Herausforderung darstellt.

Es gibt Behandlungsbereiche, da scheint Sprachlosigkeit zwischen den Professionellen und Patienten zu herrschen. Inkontinenz als eine Erkrankung des Urogenital- und Analbereichs stellt nicht nur ein gesellschaftliches Tabu dar, sondern wird oft auch in Gesprächen zwischen inkontinenten Patienten und Ärzten sowie Pflegenden gemieden. Dies, obwohl Kommunika-tion mit Patienten als eine wichtige Kernkompetenz der Professionellen gilt und sie unerlässlich für die Anamnese, die Diagnoseübermittlung, Therapieplanung und -durchführung sowie für den Erfolg medizinischer und pflegerischer Maßnahmen ist. Diese Arbeit untersucht die Kommunikation über Inkontinenz mittels teilnehmender Beobachtungen und leitfadengestützter Interviews; dabei wird eine geschlechterspezifische Differenzierung vorgenommen. Gezeigt wird, wie Betroffene ihren Verlust der Kontinenzfähigkeit wahrnehmen und ihre Patientenrolle empfinden. Zudem wird geschildert, wie die Betroffenen die Kommunikation mit den Ärztinnen und Ärzten sowie Pflegenden beurteilen. Weiter werden die unterschiedlichen Sichtweisen der Professionellen auf dieses gesundheitliche Problem dargestellt.

Terminology on Accessible Communication has primarily evolved and been published within the borders of a given country with no or only little exchange across these borders. Since English can be regarded as the lingua franca of science, this first German–English dictionary of Accessible Communication will help to promote international exchange and an international discourse on this topic by attempting to define concepts that go beyond the scope of a single-country centered approach. The terminological work for this dictionary is based on the German Handbook of Accessible Communication. Most of the handbook’s contents are language-independent and applicable to other recipient communities. On the basis of the German terminology, the English equivalents, definitions and explanations were researched. The dictionary contributes to the development of a standardised terminology across languages and cultures.

This volume presents new approaches in Easy Language research from three different perspectives: text perspective, user perspective and translation perspective.
