Риторический метадискурс рассматривается в монографии как культурно-исторически сложившаяся метадискурсивная практика, интегрирующая дискурсивные практики различных социокоммуникативных сфер на основе общности персуазивной интенции одного из субъектов дискурса. В риторическом метадискурсе осуществляется персуазивное воздействие, направленное на изменение посткоммуникативного поведения реципиента посредством изменения его прекоммуникативной установки в отношении предмета дискурса. В монографии представлены результаты лингвопрагматического анализа основной персуазивной стратегии риторического метадискурса – стратегии оценки – в немецкоязычных рекламных и политических текстах, которые образуют ядро поля риторического метадискурса.
