Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2019 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: 1,0, Bergische Universität Wuppertal, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die vorliegende Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit den Kommunikationsstrukturen in den von Bertolt Brecht verfassten Gedichten "Die neue Mundart" und "Die Wahrheit einigt". Im Fokus der Analyse soll die Kommunikation zwischen Volk und Regierenden stehen, welche zentrales Thema der beiden Gedichte ist. Die Gedichte gehören zum Zyklus der Buckower Elegien, welche im Jahr 1953 entstanden sind. Der erste Teil der Arbeit verfolgt das Ziel, den historischen und literarischen Kontext der Gedichte zu erläutern. Dafür soll zunächst ein Überblick über das Leben des Autors Bertolt Brecht gegeben werden. Zudem werden seine politischen Haltungen und Positionen in den Blick genommen, welche in seinen Werken, insbesondere in den Buckower Elegien, verarbeitet und reflektiert werden. Dieses Wissen über Brechts Politisierung ist Voraussetzung, um die Gedichte hinsichtlich ihrer politischen Bedeutung verstehen und interpretieren zu können. Der biographische Überblick erfolgt auf Grundlage des im Jahr 2006 erschienenen Werk Bertolt Brecht von Jan Knopf sowie mithilfe des Artikels über Bertolt Brecht aus dem zweiten Band des Killy-Literaturlexikon, der ebenfalls von Jan Knopf verfasst wurde. Im Anschluss an die Ausführungen über Bertolt Brecht werden die Buckower Elegien in den Blick genommen. Dabei wird auf deren Entstehungsgeschichte, sowie auf Form und Inhalt der Elegien und darüber hinaus auf deren Wirkung eingegangen. Diese Ausführungen stützen sich auf den Artikel „Buckower Elegien“ von Jörg Wilhelm Joost aus dem zweiten Band des Brecht Handbuch und den Kommentar in Band 12 der Kommentierten Berliner und Frankfurter Ausgabe. Der Hauptteil dieser Arbeit besteht aus der Analyse und Interpretation der beiden Elegien. Zunächst werden die Gedichte hinsichtlich formaler und inhaltlicher Merkmale analysiert. Dabei geht es um eine erste Darstellung der Kommunikationsstrukturen, welche dann aber in Kapitel 2.3 weiter ausgeführt werden. Die Analyse und Interpretation erfolgt mithilfe des Werkes Hollywood und Buckow von Marion Fuhrmann und Brechts neues Leben in der DDR von Andreas Klement. Darüber hinaus wird die Monographie Bertolt Brechts Buckower Elegien von Benjamin Lorenz zur Erschließung herangezogen.

Literature Review from the year 2007 in the subject Theater Studies, Dance, grade: 90%, The Open University, language: English, abstract: Just like Brecht's ideas about theatre changed throughout his career as a dramaturg and a playwright, most prominently embodied in the three different versions of Life of Galileo, moving away from the formalist epic theatre towards a dialectical one, so have our perceptions of the theatre, and what was new and revolutionary during the early years of the play's production has now been reappropriated by high culture. While Brecht displayed a great awareness of the need to continuously adapt his play in order to not only make it appropriate for the times, but also to maintain it appropriate in the light of changing times, different productions of the play have only done so with limited courage and success, leading to the sad result that what Life of Galileo once embodied is usually not entirely what it embodies now.
