Bij Artsen Zonder Grenzen hoorde Jonathan Robijn voor het eerst over een instelling in het zuiden van Rwanda, waar vijftig jaar geleden kinderen opgroeiden die een Belgische vader en een Congolese moeder hadden. In de maanden die aan de onafhankelijkheid van Congo voorafgingen werden deze metiskinderen per vliegtuig naar België geëvacueerd.
