Książka jest pracą pionierską, po raz pierwszy bowiem podjęto próbę porównania związanych z postępem i modernizacją zjawisk zachodzących w tych dwóch, na pierwszy rzut oka, obcych sobie kulturowo i historycznie krajach. Niezwykle ciekawe dla filologów, a także dla kulturoznawców są tu refleksje Autorki nad znaczeniami słów, używanych przez grupy kulturotwórcze, refleksje na temat istoty języka i jego miejsca w systemie kultury, a także konstatacja, iż zetknięcie się kultur rosyjskiej i irańskiej z modernizacją zainicjowało zmiany w sferze wyobrażeń na temat rzeczywistości. Z recenzji dr hab. Kingi Maciuszak, prof. UJ Zarówno cel badań, jak i podporządkowane mu zadania badawcze wskazują na oryginalne i twórcze podejście do podjętej w rozprawie problematyki. The monograph examines the sources of Polish social divisions. It explains their emergence and discusses the mechanisms behind their evolution from 1945-2022. The findings corroborate the idea that divisions were formed irrespective of the current state of social hierarchy, or the accepted interpretation of justice, and that they existed both in totalitarian and democratic systems alike. The book distinguishes the category of divisions from the practices of repartition, and demonstrates that the repartitions discussed in a political discourse do not generate divisions, but constitute the politicization of the latter. Repartitions are understood as discursive, dichotomic juxtapositions that result from the existence of divisions and can be used as political tools. It has been demonstrated that they can also function as analytical categories used with a view to determining the state of social inequalities. The notions of divisions and repartitions discussed in this volume confirm the existence of the continuity of changes and describe the evolution of Polish society has a consequence.

This book presents a synthesis of selected trends in the dynamics and structure of crime in Poland over the past 30 years, in the context of ongoing social transformations in the wider region. The book explores the impact of the deep systemic transformation of the late 1980s and early 1990s on the phenomenon of crime, its structure and dynamics, and the policy of its control in the following decades. It also examines the impact of changes resulting from the dynamic development of Polish society in the 21st century in the context of global changes towards the emergence of a new form of collective life, a mobile information society based on modern technologies. The focus is primarily on those deviant behaviours that can most obviously be linked to social changes, primarily political, economic, legal, and technological. The work examines disclosed crime figures available in official statistics. It also looks to the future considering the global societal changes caused by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on preliminary observations made in selected countries, the authors describe associated changes in criminal behaviour and identify some pivotal developments that may influence future trends. Podstawowym celem książki jest opisanie czasu politycznego w świadomości społecznej, jego cech oraz różnych orientacji temporalnych wytworzonych i wykorzystywanych w dyskursie politycznym przez polskie elity symboliczne po 1989 roku. Zadaniem autora było także wyjaśnienie sposobów „wykorzystania” kategorii czasowych do tworzenia ówczesnej rzeczywistości politycznej czy też funkcjonowania społeczeństwa z wykorzystaniem kategorii temporalnych. (…) Główna tematyka pracy koncentruje się wokół kilku podstawowych pojęć, które określają badaną rzeczywistość: zmiany społecznej, czasu społecznego, elit symbolicznych oraz wykorzystania przez nie kategorii temporalnych do zbudowania uprzywilejowanych w dyskursie politycznym reprezentacji społecznych. Wynika z tego podstawowa teza niniejszej pracy. Głosi ona, że kategorie temporalne służyły polskim elitom symbolicznym do „kontrolowania” rzeczywistości poprzez instrumentalne działania zmniejszania lub zwiększania w społeczeństwie poczucia społecznego lęku. Manipulacje były niekiedy najbardziej skuteczną metodą tworzenia dominacji politycznej poprzez narzucanie ówczesnej sytuacji politycznej własnej definicji temporalnej. Z Wprowadzenia Opublikowanie tej pracy będzie wydarzeniem w polskiej literaturze politologicznej, która jak dotąd prawie całkowicie pomijała analizę temporalną i z tego powodu była uboższa zarówno pod względem merytorycznym, jak i warsztatowym. Na tym polu polska politologia ustępowała nie tylko nauce filozoficznej, ale także socjologii, która znacznie wcześniej zastosowała metodę temporalną do wyjaśnienia czy chociażby zrozumienia zjawisk i procesów społecznych, w tym także politycznych. Autor ukazuje istotę i rolę czasu w ujęciu filozoficznym i socjologicznym, jak również wskazuje – głównie na konkretnym przykładzie analizy „zmiany społecznej” – na rolę kategorii temporalnych w tym procesie, a ponadto na sposoby wykorzystania „czasu społecznego” przez elity symboliczne do kontrolowania społeczeństwa. Uczynienie „zmiany społecznej” głównym przedmiotem analizy było przedsięwzięciem ze wszech miar uzasadnionym, bowiem „zmiana” zawsze następuje w czasie i nie można tego elementu z niej wykluczyć.
