Die theatralisierte und musealisierte Innen-Stadt bietet sich als Bühne für Bewegungsspiele, Tanz und Trendsportarten an und dient als Kulisse für prestigeträchtige Sportevents. Stadien wandeln sich von funktionalen Sportstätten zu agonalen Repräsentationsräumen der postindustriellen Gesellschaft. Die Konzentration der Städte auf eventisierten Sport im Zuge globaler städtischer Konkurrenzkämpfe hat aber auch eine Kehrseite - sie bewirkt eine Vernachlässigung der Bewegungsräume in marginalisierten Stadtteilen.
