Die Zeit der Niederschrift des Kutadgu Bilig geht auf etwa ein Jahrhundert nach der Konvertierung zum Islam zurUck. Kutadgu Bilig wurde im Jahre 1069 niedergeschrieben. In acht Monaten stellte Yusuf Has HAcib sein Werk fertig. Yusuf Has HAcib widmete dieses Werk dem Ostlichen Karachaniden-Herrscher Ebu Ali Hasan bin SUleyman Arslan, der auch mit dem Namen TabgaC Ulu Bu ra Kara Han bekannt war. "
