Il volume si propone di analizzare la complessa tematica dell’applicazione dei diritti umani in mare, alla luce dei drammatici eventi avvenuti nel corso degli ultimi anni ma, altresì, dei nuovi profili di problematicità sollevati dalla recente crisi sanitaria. Le difficoltà della vita e del lavoro in mare, unite alla sovrapposizione di giurisdizioni che caratterizza questo spazio nel quadro del diritto internazionale, fanno infatti sì che i diritti umani di cui l’individuo gode in mare – e che, in linea di principio, in nulla differiscono dagli analoghi diritti esercitabili sulla terraferma – difficilmente trovino piena realizzazione. La monografia intende offrire uno strumento di analisi a coloro che, nell’ambito di attività di ricerca oppure di pratica del diritto, intendano approfondire il tema di come l’applicazione dei diversi diritti di cui è titolare l’individuo possa incontrare specifici ostacoli all’interno degli spazi marini e di quali soluzioni siano ipotizzabili al fine di rimuoverli.

Lo studio delle misure applicate, che variano dalla repressione all’assistenza, lascia il forte dubbio se l’imposizione di frontiere sia un mezzo idoneo a far fronte a un dramma umano collettivo, quale quello che oggi cerca di transitare per il Mediterraneo.Amedeo Antonucci è Colonnello della Guardia di Finanza, attualmente Comandante del Gruppo Aeronavale di Taran-to e Local Coordinator delle operazioni aeronavali Frontex nel Mare Adriatico e nello Ionio settentrionale. Irini Papanicolopulu è professore associato di diritto internazionale presso l'Università Milano-Bicocca. Ha un dotto-rato di ricerca in diritto internazonale dell'Università di Milano (2005) ed è stata Marie Curie Fellow presso l'Università di Oxford (2010-2012) e Senior Lecturer presso l'Università di Glasgow (2012-2015). Tullio Scovazzi è professore di diritto internazionale nell'Università di Milano-Bicocca. Partecipa occasionalmente, come esperto giuridico, a riunioni e negoziati internazionali in tema di diritto del mare, diritto dei beni culturali, dirit-ti umani.
