Cinquant'anni fa, vicino a Gorizia esplodeva un'auto uccidendo tre carabinieri. Il colpevole di quella che fu chiamata la 'strage di Peteano' è Vincenzo Vinciguerra, unico reo confesso di tutta la strategia della tensione, condannato all'ergastolo. Ma è veramente tutto chiarito o esistono ancora delle verità nascoste che meritano di essere raccontate? La sera del 31 maggio 1972 una telefonata anonima ai carabinieri di Gorizia segnalò la presenza, a Peteano di una Fiat 500 abbandonata a bordo strada. All'apertura del cofano esplose una bomba, uccidendo i tre carabinieri che la stavano controllando e ferendone un quarto. Di tutte le stragi fasciste, questa è la più singolare per la presenza di un reo confesso: Vincenzo Vinciguerra di Ordine Nuovo.La sua 'assunzione di responsabilità' arrivò solo nel 1984, dopo indagini svolte prima in direzione di Lotta Continua, poi verso un gruppo di goriziani, assolti dopo oltre un anno di carcere. In seguito si scoprì che alti ufficiali dell'Arma (ma la polizia non fu da meno) protessero i neofascisti che avevano ucciso tre loro commilitoni. Anche il segretario del Msi, Giorgio Almirante, fu rinviato a giudizio per favoreggiamento e sfuggì al processo solo grazie a un'amnistia. Oggi Vinciguerra continua a dichiararsi combattente contro lo Stato e non ha mai usufruito di alcun permesso. Con un racconto incalzante, il libro fa luce sugli aspetti ancora in ombra della strage e sullo stesso Vinciguerra, intervistato in carcere, svelando una storia italiana ancora oggi difficile da accettare.

The Italian Far Right from 1945 to the Russia–Ukraine Conflict provides a comprehensive account of the postwar parliamentary and extra parliamentary far right in Italy. This book explores the ideology, movements and activism of the extreme right and neo- fascists. The recent victory in the Italian parliamentary elections of the ‘post-fascist’ party Fratelli d’Italia and its leader Giorgia Meloni highlights the importance of such research. The book examines why some of these movements participated with CIA- backing in the ‘Strategy of Tension’ in the years of the Cold War where terrorist actions aimed to keep Italy in NATO and prevent the Communist Party from coming to power, while other extreme- right groups vehemently opposed this and what they considered the dangerous ‘Americanization’ of the country. It debunks the myth that there was a unified postwar fascist movement in Italy, but instead excavates the complex battles within the extreme right as well as with their opponents from the left, and the authorities. This study is necessary to clarify the history and ideological dynamics of a political area still too often shrouded in mystery and whose geopolitical role is still poorly understood and generally underestimated. The analysis is contextualized in the present day by looking at the different perspectives of the Italian far right on the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The book will be of interest to researchers of political history, the Cold War and Italian history and politics.

Molti e diversi sono i temi sui quali il testo presente richiama l’attenzione. Tutti portano ad un denominatore comune: al quotidiano, alla realtà sommersa della storia feriale, umile e inappariscente, eppure tanto importante da interessare quasi per intero il corso dell’esistenza. È strano che quanto più una cosa ci è vicina tanto più tende scivolare lontana dalla coscienza. La si vive ma non la si pensa, anzi proprio perché la si vive, non si ha più bisogno di pensarla. Solo nel caso essa venga a mancare o subisca un danno, la si avverte. Davanti a La quercia caduta il poeta esclama: era così bella! Il suo rimpianto è anche il nostro. Esso sta a dire che la quercia non era solo là lungo la strada, era piantata anche dentro la nostra anima. La sentiamo come se ci appartenesse. Non è perciò solo caduta, ci è anche tolta. Questa ed altre esperienze del disincanto non sono però abituali. Dopo di esse ecco il tempo riprendere il suo ritmo quotidiano, eccoci a confronto con le nostre abitudini e le nostre emozioni: gioie, apprensioni, malanni, lavoro, riposo, feste, incontri.

E’ comodo definirsi scrittori da parte di chi non ha arte né parte. I letterati, che non siano poeti, cioè scrittori stringati, si dividono in narratori e saggisti. E’ facile scrivere “C’era una volta….” e parlare di cazzate con nomi di fantasia. In questo modo il successo è assicurato e non hai rompiballe che si sentono diffamati e che ti querelano e che, spesso, sono gli stessi che ti condannano. Meno facile è essere saggisti e scrivere “C’è adesso….” e parlare di cose reali con nomi e cognomi. Impossibile poi è essere saggisti e scrivere delle malefatte dei magistrati e del Potere in generale, che per logica ti perseguitano per farti cessare di scrivere. Devastante è farlo senza essere di sinistra. Quando si parla di veri scrittori ci si ricordi di Dante Alighieri e della fine che fece il primo saggista mondiale. Le vittime, vere o presunte, di soprusi, parlano solo di loro, inascoltati, pretendendo aiuto. Io da vittima non racconto di me e delle mie traversie. Ascoltato e seguito, parlo degli altri, vittime o carnefici, che l’aiuto cercato non lo concederanno mai. “Chi non conosce la verità è uno sciocco, ma chi, conoscendola, la chiama bugia, è un delinquente”. Aforisma di Bertolt Brecht. Bene. Tante verità soggettive e tante omertà son tasselli che la mente corrompono. Io le cerco, le filtro e nei miei libri compongo il puzzle, svelando l’immagine che dimostra la verità oggettiva censurata da interessi economici ed ideologie vetuste e criminali. Rappresentare con verità storica, anche scomoda ai potenti di turno, la realtà contemporanea, rapportandola al passato e proiettandola al futuro. Per non reiterare vecchi errori. Perché la massa dimentica o non conosce. Denuncio i difetti e caldeggio i pregi italici. Perché non abbiamo orgoglio e dignità per migliorarci e perché non sappiamo apprezzare, tutelare e promuovere quello che abbiamo ereditato dai nostri avi. Insomma, siamo bravi a farci del male e qualcuno deve pur essere diverso!
