E se la filosofia è una forza, cioè un sapere concettuale che ci consente di allargare e di approfondire la conoscenza del cinema, il cinema, insieme, affronta i problemi e le figure della filosofia e li declina per immagini. Il cinema e la riflessione sul cinema, cioè, sono un modo per dialogare con la filosofia e proporre idee, concetti che - forse - interessano anche la filosofia. Microfilosofia del cinema è quindi un libro che ruota attorno ai concetti creati dalla filosofia, ma anche dal cinema. Anzi è un libro che riflette sulla relazione cinema-filosofia attraverso i concetti. Non è una teoria ?del cinema intesa in senso tradizionale. È un percorso intellettivo che indaga su un doppio movimento, dal cinema alla filosofia e dalla filosofia al cinema. Considera quindi il cinema non come un terreno che la filosofia può rischiarare, ma come un orizzonte che crea concetti e rielabora idee: e dunque pensa il cinema non come una dimensione subalterna, ma come una macchina che produce anche sul piano della speculazione.
