Da allora l’Isle of Wight Festival vanta due edizioni successive fenomenali: nel 1969 c’è il ritorno in scena del mitico Bob Dylan, seguito o preceduto fra gli altri da Joe Cocker, Richie Havens, King Crimson; e nel 1970 il trionfo con Jimi Hendrix e Jim Morrison, oltre la presenza in cartellone del gotha pop-rock tra Chicago, The Who, Joan Boaz, Donovan, Procol Harum, Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Sly and the Family Stone, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Jethro Tull, Mungo Jerry e circa settecentomila fan in delirio. L’Isola di Wight torna essere protagonista della musica giovanile solo nel 2002, e da allora ogni estate si alterna il meglio del sound generazionale. Ma per tutti rimarranno impresse le edizioni 1968, 1969, 1970, che fanno cantare ai Dik Dik «sai cos’è l’isola di Wight, è per noi l’isola di chi ha negli occhi il blu della gioventù, di chi canta hippy, hippy, hippy».
