En els darrers anys han aparegut diferents treballs dedicats a recuperar estudis de lingüistes catalans que, com Alfons Par, van produir la seva obra al marge de la normativa proposada per l’Institut d’Estudis Catalans durant les primeres dècades del segle XX. L’estudi de M. Salomé Ribes, directora del Servei Lingüístic de la Universitat de Lleida, és pioner i pretén acostar a la societat la figura del lingüista català, de personalitat rellevant i ferm defensor de l’antinormisme. Segons Antoni Badia i Margarit, Par era un dels estudiosos «a qui tant devien la història, la filologia i la literatura nostrades». Segons l’autora de l’estudi, l’auge del catalanisme polític, la creença que calia unificar l’ortografia perquè el català esdevingués apte per a tots els usos i la creació de la Secció d’Estudis Filològics de l’IEC van acabar condicionant que «tots els que no s’acollissin a la normativa oficial, quedessin relegats». La seva formació gramatical autodidacta i el fet que decidís fer bandera de l’antinormisme el van dur a publicar fora de Catalunya la seva obra principal: Sintaxi catalana segons los escrits en prosa de Bernat Metge (1923). Tot i això, en l’estudi de Ribes es recuperen els lligams amb diverses institucions, com l’Institut d’Estudis Catalans, ja que Par va mantenir correspondència amb qui aleshores n’era el primer secretari, el lingüista Josep Pijoan. Per mitjà de retalls biogràfics, escollits minuciosament, i d’un ampli recorregut per totes les institucions i persones que Alfons Par freqüentava, l’estudi ofereix una faceta desconeguda del lingüista i és una molt bona oportunitat per a comprendre el marc on es desenvolupa la seva vida i la seva recerca. Requereix una menció especial l’apartat dedicat a les propostes lingüístiques, ja que, tot i la poca difusió, Par «no renuncia a les seves idees lingüístiques i continua ferm amb la teoria que s’ha de mantenir la tradició». Ribes, com a conclusió, afegeix que «queda la incògnita de saber què hauria passat si Par hagués sobreviscut a la Guerra Civil, si finalment hauria acceptat les Normes o si s’hauria mantingut fidel a la tradició».
