A partire da queste testimonianze e da fonti d’archivio, Goretti e Giartosio ricostruiscono un mondo che sembrava scomparso nel nulla. Gli appuntamenti sulla spiaggia di notte, le sale da ballo per soli uomini, le complicità, le rivalità, i travestimenti, gli espedienti, la paura, l’amore. Il tutto nel contesto di un’Italia provinciale, tenera ma più spesso spietata, in cui l’omosessuale è schernito di giorno e cercato di notte da uomini che non si ritengono omosessuali. Un’Italia stregata dal fascismo, che all’indomani delle leggi razziali è deciso a reprimere qualsiasi minaccia all’«integrità della stirpe», e che colpirà, con il tacito consenso dei più, centinaia di «invertiti». Indagine antropologica, riflessione sull’identità, appello alla memoria civile di un paese che facilmente dimentica, questo libro è prima di tutto una storia.

On the one hand the field of Digital Humanities opens up new perspectives to study the image of the city before, during and after the war, on the other hand digital technologies engage academics and researchers from various disciplines: In particular, in the area of drawing, the role of representation in the formulation of urban defence projects and in the documentation of wartime events and the traces left behind by conflicts is explored, while in the area of conservation, the theoretical and practical challenges imposed by the damage caused by conflicts to historic centres are explored, reviewing case studies, solutions and debates relating to the conservation of urban heritage involved in wartime actions, with a focus on identity and collective memory.
