L’idea che attraversa tutti gli scritti filosofici di Mario Rossi, anche quelli storiografici, è che la scienza e la cultura siano interne all’istanza pratico-operativa dell’uomo. Siano, cioè, sue funzioni storiche, vale a dire “attuazioni storiche, determinate e operativamente specificate, dell’attività di autoproduzione umana”. Su questa base, egli proponeva un funzionalismo storico come interno a un umanismo operativo, nella convinzione che la cultura fosse inestricabilmente legata all’azione trasformatrice dell’uomo. Ma queste due sfere vitali entro le quali si dispiega l’esistenza degli uomini (“cultura” e “rivoluzione”) non costituivano affatto per Rossi i termini di un binomio di cui il filosofo-ricercatore dovesse esaminare, dall’esterno, in modo neutro, disinteressato e distaccato, il rapporto “oggettivo”, come si fa quando si compie un esperimento scientifico in laboratorio. Rossi non credeva alla possibilità di un simile distacco, o disinteresse, per la semplice ragione che, a suo avviso, “la cultura” siamo noi, e “la rivoluzione (a meno che non abbiamo voglia di scherzare, su questo e su tutto il resto) anche”.

Sine then my understanding of black madonnas has been deepened by genetics finding that the orgin of modern humans is Africa, that migrations from Africa carried a primordial belief in a dar woman divinity to all continents. Black madonnas and other dark women of the world suggest a metaphor for healing millennial divisions of gender and race and concerted movements for justice.

Hollywood makes you believe a reality that is not there, when you reach the land of opportunities you soon realize that money doesnt grow on trees. A message that I wanted to give to my readers is that sometimes you need to make hard decisions and to take responsibilities for your actions. Its not easy to do, but I did it when I left italy and also when I sat down to write this book. THIS IS MY STORY. Si fanno cose nella vita che richiedono spirito di avventura e forte dose di incoscienza. Questo e stato importante nel mio caso per essere Cittadino Di Due Mondi. La storia di un teenager che lascia il profondo Sud della Basilicata per emigrare negli States. Negli anni 70 penso che molti giovani sognavano di andare in America, terra di grattacieli, grande praterie e fast foods, paese dove molti cantanti e attori, che io adoro sono nati, dove Cowboys and Indiani fanno guerra (film Western che adoro). Hollywood ti crea una realta surreale di come lAmerica non e, si arriva qui e presto ti accorgi che ce poco di vero di quello che la televisione ti faceva credere e presto ti accorgi che i soldi non si trovono per terra, la realta e ben diversa. Un messaggio che voglio trasmettere con questo racconto e che a volte bisogna mettersi in gioco e assumersi le proprie responsabilita anche se non e facile.
