A los cincuenta años de la proclamación por Naciones Unidas de la Declaración Universal de los Derechos Humanos, este libro pretende hacerse eco de tan importante celebración analizando la que se llamó conciencia jurídica de la humanidad a la luz de nuestros tiempos poniendo sobre la mesa algunos de los problemas más graves sobre derechos humanos que sufrimos en la actualidad. Así, partimos de la reflexión sobre si verdaderamente la Declaración Universal responde a la exigencias actuales de los derechos humanos, para a continuación profundizar en el análisis de problemas más concretos, como la resistencia de los Estados a reprimir las violaciones graves de derechos humanos, las deficiencias del sistema de control extraconvencional de Naciones Unidas, las características con las que nace el Tribunal Penal Internacional, para finalizar con la desprotección de los refugiados en la Europa comunitaria.

The Rome Statute, unlike the statutes of the International Criminal Tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and for Rwanda, creates a permanent court whose dormant jurisdiction covers the territory and includes the nationals of States Parties and is universal in cases where the Security Council makes a referral. Besides, unlike the "ad hoc" tribunals, which have jurisdiction over specific crisis situations whose personal, territorial and temporal parameters have been defined in their respective statutes by the UN Security Council, in the case of the ICC it is not possible to determine a priori in which situations the ICC will be involved. As a result, the most relevant activity of the Court is the determination of those situations regarding which the dormant jurisdiction of the Court will be triggered. The book "The Triggering Procedure of the International Criminal Court" constitutes the first comprehensive analysis of the proceedings that, prior to any criminal investigation, aim to make such a fundamental determination.

Durante el curso 20052006 se inicia en el primer año de Administración y Dirección de Empresas en la Universidad Pontificia Comillas de Madrid el proyecto Piloto de implantación de nuevas estructuras y metodologías acordes con el Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior. El contenido de este libro refleja los resultados obtenidos en un proyecto de Investigación denominado Análisis, puesta en marcha y evaluación de una metodología centrada en el aprendizaje en Administración y Dirección de Empresas a la luz del Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior (EEES) en el que se pretende valorar si las estrategias utilizadas por el equipo de docentes de esta titulación eran eficaces en el desarrollo de un aprendizaje de calidad por parte de los estudiantes. Los resultados de los análisis realizados describen la percepción de éstos sobre cómo aprenden, sus niveles de autorregulación y de autoeficacia académica y si están satisfechos con las metodologías de aprendizaje y de evaluación utilizadas, así como el nivel de desarrollo percibido en algunas competencias profesionales. También se describen cómo perciben los cambios en las metodologías y estructura de la docencia los profesores de la titulación.

El presente trabajo supone un análisis de los derechos humanos en el marco de los procesos de integración que tienen lugar en América Latina y el Caribe, así como de los diferentes aspectos y dimensiones que presentan los mismos, los cuales no han sido, hasta ahora, examinados, de manera profunda, por la doctrina científica.
