The Divine Comedy (La Divina Commedia) by Dante Alighieri (Durante di Alighiero degli Alighieri). A “comedy”, that became a “divine book” for ancestors, is one of the greatest works of art known to the world. It is an encyclopedia of “moral, natural, philosophical and theological” knowledges, a tremendous synthesis of the feudal catholic ideology and the same tremendous epiphany that spread during the new culture times. A great poetic genius of the author put this comedy above the era and made it a legacy of centuries.

Travel with Dante on a journey like no other, beyond the material world and into the eternal emotions of the soul. Through the gates of hell, across the great river Acheron and down the circle of damnation, Dante's journal is much more than a descriptive text but a moral lesson for life. Ultimately the destination reveals Satan himself, forever imprisoned waist deep in ice. This is the first of three volumes of Dante's masterpiece, La Divina Comedia. Dante Alighieri wrote the work between 1307 and 1321. In this truly epic work, his vision is filled with imagination, symbolism and purpose. Dante is known as "The supreme poet" and the father of the Italian language.

The Divine Comedy (Italian: La Divina Commedia) is an epic poem written by Dante Alighieri between 1308 and his death in 1321. It is widely considered the preeminent work of Italian literature, and is seen as one of the greatest works of world literature. The poem's imaginative and allegorical vision of the Christian afterlife is a culmination of the medieval world-view as it had developed in the Western Church. It helped establish the Tuscan dialect in which it is written as the Italian standard. It is divided into three parts, the Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso. On the surface the poem describes Dante's travels through Hell, Purgatory, and Heaven; but at a deeper level it represents allegorically the soul's journey towards God. At this deeper level, Dante draws on medieval Christian theology and philosophy, especially the teachings of Thomas Aquinas. At the surface level, the poem is understood to be fictional.

The Divine Comedy (Italian: Divina Commedia) is a long Italian narrative poem by Dante Alighieri, begun c. 1308 and completed in 1320, a year before his death in 1321. It is widely considered to be the pre-eminent work in Italian literature and one of the greatest works of world literature. The poem's imaginative vision of the afterlife is representative of the medieval world-view as it had developed in the Western Church by the 14th century. It helped establish the Tuscan language, in which it is written (also in most present-day Italian-market editions), as the standardized Italian language. It is divided into three parts: Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso.
