Matthias Kramer (1640-1729) est l'un des francisants les plus compétents de l'Allemagne du XVIIIe siècle. Pour enseigner les langues romanes, il se fait grammairien et lexicographe. Il est, entre autres, l'auteur d'un »Dictionnaire roïal« français-allemand (4 volumes, Nuremberg 1712-15) qui impressionne tant par la quantité du matériel traité que par l'originalité des théories appliquées. Nous nous proposons ici de présenter l'homme et l'oeuvre, de réhabiliter Kramer. Pour cela, nous rendons compte de la réception de ses travaux didactiques à travers les siècles et nous présentons une biographie détaillée ainsi qu'une bibliographie commentée de l'ensemble de l'oeuvre (143 éditions). Après avoir esquissé la genèse du dictionnaire de 1712, nous montrons quelles ont été les sources françaises de Kramer. L'étude de la macrostructure du dictionnaire, dans lequel Kramer met en place une ordonnance >quasi radicaleconnexiones Matthias Kramer (1640-1729), der in Nürnberg als Sprachlehrer und Lexikograph wirkte, zählt zu den bedeutendsten Fremdsprachlern seiner Zeit. Leben und Werk des Sprachmeisters werden hier detailliert dargestellt. Theorie und Praxis der zweisprachigen Lexikographie Französisch-Deutsch im 18. Jahrhundert werden am Beispiel von Kramers »Dictionnaire roïal« (1712-15) dargelegt. Die Wörterbuchvorworte, die die Modernität der Theorien Kramers dokumentieren, werden erstmals ediert. Gliederung der Arbeit: 1. Rezeption des Werks, 2. Biographie, 3. Bibliographie, 4. Entstehungsgeschichte des Wörterbuchs, 5. Makrostruktur, 6. Mikrostruktur, 7. Edition der metalexikographischen Vorworte.
