África ha sido un continente sometido y expoliado por conquistadores portugueses y españoles desde el siglo XV, más tarde por negreros esclavistas durante varios siglos, y por las potencias coloniales occidentales desde el vergonzoso reparto que hicieron del mapa africano en 1885. Inglaterra, Francia, Alemania, Italia, Portugal, Holanda, y tangencialmente España se repartieron aquella tarta africana de manera impune. Pero en el siglo XX y hasta nuestros días, a pesar de los procesos de independencia masivos, alcanzados por los años 1960 a 1975, los pueblos de África sufren una agresión permanente de parte del neocapitalismo occidental y chino, sobre sus recursos y personas, y con frecuencia con el apoyo y anuencia de líderes nacionales hartos de avaricia, abuso de poder y despilfarro de bienes colectivos. Pero es seguro que lo más doloroso que se viene produciendo en África en estos siglos y décadas de oprobio sea la neocolonización cultural y educativa que conduce a la pérdida de lo más valioso de los pueblos originarios africanos, sus valores profundos, tradiciones, señas de identidad. El salto acelerado de las comunidades rurales precapitalistas a las grandes ciudades donde se impone la era digital y el consumismo voraz está contribuyendo a la progresiva anulación de lo africano y sus valores. La escuela y los nacientes sistemas educativos a veces contribuyen a esa alocada marcha, por negligencia, por sometimiento a modelos foráneos. Y sin embargo, también en África cabe la esperanza de preservar valores tan autóctonos como la comunidad, la familia extensa, la hospitalidad, la armonía con la naturaleza, así como lograr incorporar y asentar formas de gobierno mucho más democráticas, capaces de ir construyendo una sociedad más equilibrada en lo social y en el reparto de bienes. La educación puede desempeñar una posición constructiva y tiene una responsabilidad en estos procesos de autoestima africana. En esta obra se ofrecen pistas y experiencias educativas para emprender o continuar un camino de justicia que apuesta por África mediante el compromiso por la educación.

Del vivir es considerada antes que ninguna otra (por el autor del escrito) calificaci�n y clasificaci�n, una de las mejores, si no la mejor, novela corta de Gabriel Mir� y el primer texto que obedece perfectamente al r�tulo novela l�rica.Gabriel Mir� Ferrer (Alicante, 28 de julio de 1879-Madrid, 27 de mayo de 1930) fue un escritor espa�ol, encuadrado habitualmente en la llamada generaci�n del 14 o el novecentismo.Mir� fue un estilista, l�rico o poeta en prosa. Este punto de vista y el uso de estas etiquetas, sin embargo, no son del todo acertadas, porque pierden de vista la tradici�n narrativa de la que bebe el autor. En efecto, en los textos de Mir� hay un alto grado de tratamiento l�rico-estil�stico, motivo por el cual fue este muy influyente en los poetas de la Generaci�n del 27 . Ahora bien, estas estrategias no est�n re�idas con el uso de t�cnicas narrativas, como cada vez m�s viene se�alando la cr�tica. Adem�s, Mir� entronca con el Modernism de autores europeos como Virginia Woolf, James Joyce y Marcel Proust. De acuerdo con los par�metros de esta tendencia literaria, los aspectos l�ricos y estil�sticos no son meramente decorativos ni po�ticos per se, sino que se incorporan a la novela con funciones narrativas.
