El Estatuto del Artista es un conjunto de medidas dispersas en la normativa Laboral, de Seguridad Social y Tributaria, que tiene como fin dignificar la situación profesional de las personas creadoras, artistas y otras personas trabajadoras de la cultura. La obra tiene por objeto estudiar el régimen jurídico de la relación laboral de carácter especial de las personas dedicadas a las actividades artísticas, así como a las actividades técnicas y auxiliares necesarias para su desarrollo en España. Todo ello, con el propósito de hacer un estudio comparativo con otros países de nuestro entorno, para obtener posibles soluciones que afronten las carencias normativas que este sector padece. Tras presentar una introducción, en el primer capítulo, en el segundo se ofrece un recorrido normativo del sector cultural, tanto internacional como nacional. El tercero, estudia la nueva regulación española del Estatuto del Artista, especialmente en cuanto a relación laboral de carácter especial, ámbito de aplicación, capacidad para contratar, forma del contrato, período de prueba, duración y modalidades del contrato, derechos y deberes de las partes, retribución, jornada, descansos y vacaciones, extinción del contrato, jurisdicción competente, régimen aplicable al personal técnico y auxiliar, y cotización de los artistas con bajos ingresos integrados en el Régimen Especial de Trabajadores por Cuenta Propia o Autónomos y adaptaciones normativas. El cuarto, analiza la regulación extranjera de los siguientes países: Portugal, Francia, Bélgica, Italia, México y Perú, con el propósito de realizar un estudio de derecho comparado y ofrecer las propuestas de mejora para el caso español. Las conclusiones más relevantes se presentan en el capítulo quinto. Seguidamente, se ofrece la bibliografía y un conjunto de anexos. Lawrence Lessig's "Code and Other Laws of Cyberspace" v1 quickly began to define a certain vocabulary for thinking about the regulation of cyberspace.
