Se ha demostrado que la adolescencia es una etapa de recursos y de oportunidades y que los factores de protección pueden dar más información sobre los procesos de adaptación, sin embargo, la evaluación de factores de riesgos también contribuye a entender el desarrollo adolescente ante situaciones extremas. Es por ello que el modelo ecológico-transaccional tiene propuestas que explican la forma de interactuar entre los factores de riesgo y los factores de protección, lo cual da como resultado diferentes trayectorias del desarrollo y formas de adaptación, que van más allá de la adaptación, y que se denomina resiliencia. El objetivo principal de Adaptación y resiliencia adolescente en contextos múltiples es presentar un análisis de lo que implica el desarrollo adolescente a partir de dos procesos básicos, la adaptación y la resiliencia, de los cuales se presentan sus fundamentos teóricos y metodológicos, lo que permite entender algunos de los riesgos enfrentados por los adolescentes, pero también los factores que pueden ayudarles a continuar con un desarrollo saludable, más allá de situaciones normativas en diversas poblaciones. La información se organiza en cinco capítulos, que presentan reflexiones teóricas y una breve revisión del estado del arte sobre variables involucradas con la adaptación adolescente. La obra abordan de manera profunda las variables que interaccionan en el desarrollo adolescente desde una perspectiva teórica metodológica basada en la evidencia científica, por lo que va dirigida principalmente a alumnos en formación y a profesionales de la salud mental orientados al estudio de adolescentes y familias.

La criminalidad es uno de esos fenómenos que, indudablemente, no solo inquieta y preocupa a la sociedad sino también, y al mismo tiempo, suscita una amplia narrativa literaria, ha sido llevada en muchas ocasiones al celuloide y, en los últimos años, ha despertado un emergente interés de plató televisivo con un tratamiento de la problemática, en ocasiones, sesgado y sensacionalista, alejado del análisis y rigor científico que esta temática requiere.Precisamente es ese rigor el que, tras años de investigación, he tratado de aportar a esta obra. Si se parte de la premisa de que, desafortunadamente, tenemos que convivir con unas cuotas de criminalidad cuyo nivel de “tolerancia” viene fijado, mayoritariamente, por la propia opinión pública, deberemos comprender que el objetivo de las medidas y actuaciones que se adoptan en la lucha contra la criminalidad han de interpretarse con la debida prudencia pues aunque estas intervenciones vayan encaminadas a la prevención del delito en muchas ocasiones no consiguen el efecto deseado y que no es otro que el de la esperanza de eliminar el comportamiento delictivo. Aun así, pese a parecer esta meta un sueño inalcanzable, ello no debe convertirse en impedimento para llevar a cabo todas aquellas medidas y planes de intervención que se precisen para conseguir tan anhelado objetivo. Actuaciones estas respaldadas y sustentadas, como no podía ser de otra manera, por un riguroso conocimiento empírico.Así pues, tras un pormenorizado y estructurado examen de los procesos implicados y de las posibles causas que intervienen en el controvertido estudio de la delincuencia habitual, el presente trabajo de investigación trata, por un lado, de ofrecer una amplia visión en cuanto al modo de entender este problema y, por otro, una distintiva manera de abordar su tratamiento penal y penitenciario en atención a los nuevos avances llevados a cabo en el campo de la neurociencia en esta materia.
