The ongoing digitisation of the literary papyri (and related technical texts like the medical papyri) is leading to new thoughts on the concept and shape of the "digital critical edition" of ancient documents. First of all, there is the need of representing any textual and paratextual feature as much as possible, and of encoding them in a semantic markup that is very different from a traditional critical edition, based on the mere display of information. Moreover, several new tools allow us to reconsider not only the linguistic dimension of the ancient texts (from exploiting the potentialities of linguistic annotation to a full consideration of language variation as a key to socio-cultural analysis), but also the very concept of philological variation (replacing the mono-authorial view of an reconstructed archetype with a dynamic multitextual model closer to the fluid aspect of the textual transmission). The contributors, experts in the application of digital strategies to the papyrological research, face these issues from their own viewpoints, not without glimpses on parallel fields like Egyptology and Near Eastern studies. The result is a new, original and cross-disciplinary overview of a key issue in the digital humanities.

L’Analisi Linguistica e Letteraria è una rivista internazionale di linguistica e letteratura peer reviewed. Ha una prospettiva sia sincronica che diacronica e accoglie ricerche di natura teorica e applicata. Seguendo un orientamento spiccatamente interdisciplinare, si propone di approfondire la comprensione dei processi di analisi testuale in ambito letterario come anche in ambito linguistico. How do we learn what it means to be a man? And how do we learn to question what it means to be a man? This collection comprises a set of original interdisciplinary chapters on the linguistic and cultural representations of queer masculinities in a range of new and older media: television, film, online forums, news reporting, advertising and fiction. This innovative work examines new and emerging forms of gender hybridisation in relation to complex socialisation and immigration contexts including the role of EU institutions in ascertaining asylum seekers’ sexual orientation, and the European laws on gender policy. The book employs numerous analytical approaches including critical discourse analysis, corpus linguistics, multimodal analysis, literary criticism and anthropological and social research. The authors show how such texts can disrupt, question or complicate traditional notions of what it means to be a man, queering the idea that men possess fixed identities or desires, instead arguing that masculinity is constantly changing and negotiated through the cultural and political overlapping contexts in which it is regularly produced. These nuanced analyses will bring fresh insights for students and scholars of gender, masculinity and queer studies, linguistics, anthropology and semiotics.

Il volume esplora le trasfi gurazioni del soggetto lirico femminile nella seconda metà del Novecento, in contrasto con le interpretazioni del testo inteso come rispecchiamento fedele dell’inquieto vissuto autoriale. Addentrandosi negli universi letterari di una triade esemplare di autrici – Amelia Rosselli, Sylvia Plath e Alejandra Pizarnik – lo studio problematizza alcune visioni ermeneutiche elaborate in seno ai gender studies, per comprendere come si esercita la funzione autoriale nella cesura fra la scrittrice e l’Io testuale. Dall’analisi emerge la prospettiva di una profonda aporia che investe lo statuto fantasmatico del soggetto: le poetesse giocano con una performance di autenticità che sfocia nell’impasse epistemologica, non distinguendo più tra reale e fi ttizio. Rifuggendo le sabbie mobili del biografi smo, il libro propone di sganciare l’Io poetico femminile dal monadismo introspettivo della prima persona, per concepirlo invece come una fi gura in continua diffrazione entro i confi ni del testo.
