El propósito de esta compilación es brindar un marco referencial de la Crisis de Octubre de 1962, que permita una mejor comprensión por el lector de la dimensión de los acontecimientos. En los antecedentes, se han reunido la cronología de las relaciones Cuba-Estados Unidos 1959-1962 y comunicados y declaraciones del Gobierno Revolucionario y su primer ministro.
