Eleonora Amato è nata il 7 aprile del 1987 a San Gallo in Svizzera e risiede a Castrignano dei Greci, un piccolo paesino della Grecia Salentina in provincia di Lecce, nel 2014 si laurea in Lettere Moderne con il massimo dei voti all’Università del Salento con una tesi su una scrittrice contemporanea, intitolata “La letteratura dell’anima: viaggio attraverso i romanzi di Susanna Tamaro”. Fin da giovanissima si diletta nello scrivere e ama soprattutto comporre poesie, un’arte che considera bellissima perché in grado di tirare fuori ogni emozione. Nel 2017 partecipa al Concorso di poesia “Il Federiciano”, indetto dalla Aletti Editore, con una poesia “Un’emozione chiamata vita”, ricevendo poi l’attestato di partecipazione. Nell’ottobre del 2017 riceve la proposta di poter partecipare ad un nuovo progetto poetico sempre della casa editrice Aletti, dal titolo: “Il paese della poesia: Tre poeti a raffronto” e la sua raccolta viene scelta insieme a quella di altre due autrici per la stampa di una raccolta poetica dal titolo: “La poesia non cerca seguaci, cerca amanti,” pubblicato nel febbraio del 2018. Successivamente viene scelta per far parte dell’Enciclopedia dei poeti contemporanei, progetto che le permette di entrare in contatto e confrontarsi con altri autori del nostro secolo. Il presente libro nasce sempre grazie alla collaborazione della Casa Editrice Aletti che ha creduto in lei e ha deciso di pubblicare le sue opere nel 2018. L’opera si intitola “La sinfonia dei versi”, perché per Eleonora la poesia è un po’ come una sinfonia che nasce dall’anima e si diffonde a tutti coloro che ne sono amanti, infatti quando pensa alla musicalità della poesia immagina le onde del mare di un cielo al tramonto, questo è per lei il momento in cui il poeta resta solo con se stesso per lasciare spazio alla sua interiorità.

Alzira is the seventh work and the sixth opera to be published in the critical edition of The Works of Giuseppe Verdi. Composed during the middle of the very productive period of Verdi's first large-scale successes, Alzira premiered at Naples on August 12, 1845. Cammarano's libretto is based on a play of Voltaire, who used a real incident in sixteenth-century Peru during the Spanish conquest to shape a critique of the morality of the noble savage as against Christian values. The inherent conflicts and exotic setting appealed to Verdi's dramatic sense, and in its best moments the music of Alzira fully realizes his potential as a masterful composer for the theater. Because the success of the premiere was not repeated, Alzira fell out of the repertory and no orchestral score was ever published. The critical edition, based on Verdi's autograph score and important secondary sources, provides the first reliable full score of the work. It is complemented by an introduction tracing the opera's genesis, sources and performance history and practices. Together with the detailed critical commentary, discussing problems and ambiguities in the sources, the edition provides scholars and performers alike with unequalled means for interpretation and study of this poorly known work.

In this fascinating collection of essays, an international group of scholars explores the sonic consequences of transcultural contact in the early modern period. They examine how cultural configurations of sound impacted communication, comprehension, and the categorisation of people. Addressing questions of identity, difference, sound, and subjectivity in global early modernity, these authors share the conviction that the body itself is the most intimate of contact zones, and that the culturally contingent systems by which sounds made sense could be foreign to early modern listeners and to present day scholars. Drawing on a global range of archival evidence—from New France and New Spain, to the slave ships of the Middle Passage, to China, Europe, and the Mediterranean court environment—this collection challenges the privileged position of European acoustical practices within the discipline of global-historical musicology. The discussion of Black and non-European experiences demonstrates how the production of ‘the canon’ in the cosmopolitan centres of colonial empires was underpinned by processes of human exploitation and extraction of resources. As such, this text is a timely response to calls within the discipline to decolonise music history and to contextualise the canonical works of the European past. This volume is accessible to a wide and interdisciplinary audience, not only within musicology, but also to those interested in early modern global history, sound studies, race, and slavery.
