Hafez Haidar (Baalbeck, 25 maggio 1953) è un docente, scrittore, poeta e traduttore libanese naturalizzato italiano. Accademico emerito, presidente di diversi comitati per i diritti umani, Cavaliere della Repubblica Italiana e direttore generale internazionale della Camerata dei Poeti di Firenze, Presidente di diversi premi letterari ed ambasciatore nel mondo del premio del giornalismo italiano Maria Grazia Cutuli, Ambasciatore di Gariwo per i diritti umani, è tra i principali curatori e traduttori in italiano dell’opera di Khalil Gibran. Nel 2017 è candidato al Premio Nobel per la Pace. Di notevole cura la sua traduzione del 2001 de Le mille e una notte, pubblicata da Mondadori. Il suo nome è inserito nel Dizionario comparato delle religioni monoteistiche (Piemme Edizioni) come uno dei maggiori studiosi delle religioni del Libro a livello mondiale.

Gibran affronta in quest’opera di ampio respiro tematiche quali “Amore ed equità”, “Ragione e Conoscenza”, “Natura e Uomo”: con il suo messaggio pregnante e visionario, ha restituito a un vastissimo pubblico il valore della spiritualità, messa in crisi nell’era contemporanea dal diffondersi di concezioni scettiche o relativistiche. Kahlil Gibran nacque nel 1883 a Bisharri, nel Libano settentrionale, e morì nel 1931 a New York. Fu poeta, filosofo, pittore. La sua fama si diffuse ben al di là del vicino Oriente: le sue poesie furono tradotte in più di venti lingue e le sue opere furono esposte nelle più importanti gallerie di tutto il mondo. Trascorse gli ultimi vent’anni di vita in America, dove ben presto divenne un maestro e un mito per i milioni di giovani che ne leggevano gli scritti. This volume is concerned with the eschatology of Origen, the great 3rd century theologian and philosopher of Alexandria. Of all the doctrines attributed to him, those on the resurrection of man and the end of days have evoked the most opposition and controversy, from Antiquity to the Patristic scholarship of today. Professor Crouzel argues that the thought of Origen himself has been consistently misunderstood and distorted, from the time of Methodius of Olympia onwards, and that renewed examination of Origen's own surviving writings can lead to a radically differing assessment of the orthodoxy of his views. Among the particular points discussed are Origen's doctrine of Purgatory, commonly supposed to be a particularity of the Latin Church, and the relationship in his thought between the final purification at the end of time and the spiritual purification of existence here on earth. Ce volume traite de l’eschatologie d’Origène, le grand théologian et philosophe alexandrin du IIIe siècle. De toutes les doctrines qui lui sont attribuées, ce sont celles sur la resurrection de l’homme et a la fin des jours qui ont provoqué le plus d’oppositionet de controverse de l’Antiquitié jusqu’à notre époque. Le Père Henri Crouzel maintient que la pensée veritable d’Origène à été constamment mal interpretéee et corrompue et ce, dès l’époque de Méthode d’Olympe. Selon l’auteur, un nouvel examen des écrits d’Origène peut mener à une appréciation totalement différente de l’orthodoxie du theeologien. Parmi les points spécifiques debattus sont: la doctrine d’Origène sur la purgatoire - communément supposée être un domaine latin - et sur le rapport, dans ses pensées, entre l’ultime purificationde la fin des temps et celle, d’ordre spirituel, de l’existence ici-bas sur terre.
