The Lands of Nod is a fantasy book for all ages, with many characters and turns and twists to it. It is the beginning of a trilogy. It is the first book of three. Far, far away beyond the foaming 7 seas, beneath the countless glistening stars, in the endless eternal skies, imbedded in the realms of unconsciousness lies the timeless ever-changing lands of Nod. Surrounded by a fierce raging ocean, covered in a dreamy mist, the land holds many tales of lore and mystery. She is filled with the gurgles of sparking mountain streams, lush green rolling hills, grassy knolls, craggy cliffs, majestic mountains, barren wastelands and deep forests of whispering pines. You cannot travel there by land, or by sea, only by way of the deep abyss of your unconsciousness, through the tunnels and passages of your dreams, beyond the realms of reality, deep in the shadows of fantasy.

Mousterian Lithic Technology written by Steven L. Kuhn and has been published by Princeton University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-07-14 with Social Science categories.

Human beings depend more on technology than any other animal--the use of tools and weapons is vital to the survival of our species. What processes of biocultural evolution led to this unique dependence? Steven Kuhn turns to the Middle Paleolithic (Mousterian) and to artifacts associated with Neanderthals, the most recent human predecessors. His study examines the ecological, economic, and strategic factors that shaped the behavior of Mousterian tool makers, revealing how these hominids brought technological knowledge to bear on the basic problems of survival. Kuhn's main database consists of assemblages of stone artifacts from four caves and a series of open-air localities situated on the western coast of the Italian peninsula. Variations in the ways stone tools were produced, maintained, and discarded demonstrate how Mousterian hominids coped with the problems of keeping mobile groups supplied with the artifacts and raw materials they used on a daily basis. Changes through time in lithic technology were closely tied to shifting strategies for hunting and collecting food. Some of the most provocative findings of this study stem from observations about the behavioral flexibility of Mousterian populations and the role of planning in foraging and technology. Originally published in 1995. The Princeton Legacy Library uses the latest print-on-demand technology to again make available previously out-of-print books from the distinguished backlist of Princeton University Press. These editions preserve the original texts of these important books while presenting them in durable paperback and hardcover editions. The goal of the Princeton Legacy Library is to vastly increase access to the rich scholarly heritage found in the thousands of books published by Princeton University Press since its founding in 1905.

Doing Archaeology written by Thomas F King and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-06-16 with Social Science categories.

What is archaeology, and why should we do it? Tom King, arguably the best-known heritage management consultant in the United States, answers the basic question of every introductory student from the unique perspective of one who actively uses archaeology for cultural resource management. Designed as a supplement for introduction to archaeology classes, this brief and breezy book runs the reader through the major principles of archaeology, using examples from the author’s own field work and that of others. King shows how contemporary archaeology, as part of the larger cultural resource management endeavor, acts to help preserve and protect prehistoric and historic sites in the United States and elsewhere. Brief biographies of other CRM archaeologists help students envision career paths they might emulate. The bookends with an exploration of some of the thorny problems facing the contemporary archaeologist to help foster class discussion. An ideal ice-breaker for introductory college classes in archaeology, one that will get students engaged in the subject and thinking about its challenges.
