Questo è il racconto di un bambino lasciato dal padre, che ha affrontato le difficoltà della vita trasformandosi in un uomo coraggioso e di valore. Dopo aver frequentato l’accademia navale, ha intrapreso la carriera militare, si è sposato, ha avuto dei figli. Questo libro non è una ricetta magica, ma una bussola che vi indicherà la direzione. Questo libro è un inno all'indomito spirito umano che, come una fenice (Phoenix), risorge dalle ceneri. Mi concederò la libertà di deviare dal percorso principale, di poter sviare in divagazioni appassionanti che aggiungeranno il necessario pizzico di brio alla narrazione. Mi immergerò in un intreccio pieno di sfumature, dove le digressioni diventano perle preziose da condividere. Voglio instaurare un legame profondo con il lettore, avvolgerlo nelle mie emozioni e facendolo sentire parte della mia vita, o come la definiremo in seguito, parte della mia avventura. Così facendo, il racconto diventa più avvincente, con colpi di scena inaspettati e momenti di gioia e luminosità come un sole che splende su una giornata serena. Il libro vuole essere ottimista e speranzoso come un arcobaleno che si spiega dopo una pioggia, ma anche riconciliante e sereno, come il suono delle onde che accarezzano la riva. Caro amico delle parole, sono immensamente grato per il privilegio che mi hai concesso, permettendomi di svelare il mio viaggio. Attraverso queste righe, desidero condividere con te una luce scintillante, un faro di speranza che possa risplendere nella tua oscurità personale. In order to handle the social crises generated by war, competition for social position, and the abandonment of children, a series of private and public initiatives expanded existing charitable institutions and founded new ones. Philip Gavitt's research reveals the important role played by lineage ideology among Florence's elites in the use and manipulation of these charitable institutions in the often futile pursuit of economic and social stability. Considering families of all social levels, he argues that the pursuit of family wealth and prestige often worked at cross-purposes with the survival of the very families it was supposed to preserve.
