Le Prime Opere Narrative Di Don Delillo written by Davide Barbuscia and has been published by Firenze University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013 with Time in literature categories.

This study deals with the first works by Don DeLillo, from Americana (1971) to Running Dog (1978), but it also extends its investigation horizon to his following works. The work deals specifically with the conception of time, and the way it is represented in the texts of the American author. By integrating the philosophy of time with narratology, the volume offers critical reflections aimed at identifying the type of poetics through which DeLillo articulates time in his work. In particular, the centrality of the perception of time in his novels and, more specifically, the concentration of the plots in certain moments, the oblique presence of the influence of Samuel Beckett's work in the representation of duration and the attention of the author to the double temporality of the cinematographic image and its hidden aesthetic potential are highlighted. Therefore, time becomes the conceptual context in which the textures of these texts, and the themes characterising them, find a resolution. In the representation of time, in the microscopic analysis and in the slow motion of some specific time segments, DeLillo's narrative traces the possibilities of an indefinable and mysterious perception of reality and history.

A Partire Da Underworld written by Nicola Turi and has been published by Firenze University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020 with Fiction categories.

This thesis work intends to provide a contribution in the field of research on Stefan Zweig through the in-depth study of his most famous and emblematic biographies that made the writer's fortune worldwide in the 1930s. During the research, it emerged that Zweig's biographies represent a field that has remained largely unexplored. In addition to interviews with specialists, this aspect is confirmed by the limited number of studies relating to this topic, appeared mostly in the form of not always exhaustive journal articles. Particularly, the biographies dedicated to the two queens Marie Antoinette and Maria Stuart are little taken into account, as well as the biographical study focused on the French poet Marceline Desbordes-Valmore. From the in-depth analysis of scientific sources it becomes also clear how the terminology with which these works are indicated is problematic, in that we sometimes speak of "biography" and sometimes of "novel"; sometimes these two terms appear interchangeable within a same work. With this work, an attempt was therefore made to resolve this dilemma in favour of the concept of "biography", a term which, due to its hybridity, appears not only more adequate but above all conforming to the writer's statements.

Giuseppe Maria Crespi E Il Gran Principe Ferdinando De Medici written by Elisa Zucchini and has been published by Firenze University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021 with History categories.

The volume investigates the reception of Senecan tragedies during Humanism, focusing on printed editions and on translations in Florentine vernacular language. The first chapter summarizes the manuscript transmission of the tragedies up to the first age of printing, with a glimpse to their possible theatrical representations. The second chapter contains the description of the printed editions from the princeps (before 1478) to the three-comment edition by Josse Bade (1514): I analysed the main paratexts, with a focus on the commentaries by Gellio Bernardino Marmitta, Daniele Caetani, and Josse Bade, and reconstructed the identities of the personalities who contributed to the publication of the tragedies. The third chapter offers a stylistic study of the five vernacular translations produced up to the year 1498. In the volume I publish the translations by Evangelista Fossa (Agamennone) and Pizio da Montevarchi (Hercule furent and Hyppolito), which lacked a modern edition.
