Malgre le poids demographique des jeunes, ils eprouvent des difficultes a s'imposer dans les luttes pour le pouvoir d'Etat. En observant le positionnement dans le champ politique des principales composantes de ce groupe social a savoir les jeunes scolaires, les jeunes non-scolarises et les jeunes femmes, nous avons pu etablir qu'il existe des influences mutuelles entre les jeunes et les institutions (englobant les protagonistes en luttes pour le pouvoir d'Etat ainsi que le cadre meme de ces luttes). Dans sa configuration, le champ des luttes politiques est a l'avantage des aines sociaux. Ce qui semble exclure les jeunes qui se retrouvent dans une position de domines. Cette domination, si elle est construite et entretenue par les acteurs politiques tout au long de l'histoire, presente cependant des failles, permettant aux jeunes de s'emanciper et tenter de s'imposer dans le champ politique. Par ailleurs, la forte pression demographique et le contexte nouveau de socialisation contribuent a donner un poids dans le champ des luttes politiques a cette composante sociale, ou elle s'impose desormais aux differents protagonistes en lutte qui doivent composer avec elle."
