Magic loop knitting is a way of knitting socks (or any tiny tube) with a long circular needle instead of double-pointed needles. In this pattern you will see links to seven instructional videos that will explain each section in detail, and help get you through the tricky parts. All you need is less than 200 yards of worsted-weight yarn and size US 5 circular needle with at least a 24″ cord. (A longer cord is even better.) This pattern is for a worsted-weight anklet sock. We’re using heavier yarn and bigger needles than most knitted socks, so that you can quickly learn and work through the elements of Magic Loop sock knitting. The techniques you learn here will set you up for working with all kinds of other sock patterns. * Pattern includes links to video tutorial.

A Step-By-Step Guide to Learn How to Knit Beautiful Pieces in the Round Can you knit flat? If so, then you can also knit in the round! There is no big mystery to it, and this book will teach you how to do it. Knitting in the round creates a seamless circular fabric and opens up a world of possibilities for crafts such as hats, sweaters, cowls, and socks. Knitting in the round, often known as circular knitting, produces a seamless tube such as in socks, sweaters, and hats. When you work in the round, you'd first cast on a number of stitches, then join the first and last cast-on stitches to continue knitting; the knitting spirally progresses in rounds (like the rows in flat knitting). Circular knitting has numerous benefits. The fabric's weight is uniformly distributed on the needles, reducing stress on the arms and wrists. Purling is not necessary in stockinette stitch, which is frequently seen as one of the huge benefits of circular knitting. The creation of garments like sweaters is also made easier because knitting in the round nearly completely removes the finishing processes of sewing the sweater together. Although double-pointed needles (DPNs) can be used to knit in the round, however, starting with a circular needle is advised because it is easier to use. You will also have to use a bunch of stitches when knitting in the round such that the stitches span the complete circumference of the circular needle. You will rapidly master knitting in the round with a circular needle if you practice consistently with it. There are various techniques, tips, tools, and troubleshooting tricks you must be familiar with, which are vital for your success in circular knitting, and that's what this book aims to help you achieve. Below are snippets of what you will learn; 1. Tools and accessories of circular knitting plus pointers to make the right choice 2. Important knitting terms and abbreviations 3. Circular knitting tips and techniques such as knitting jogless stripes, knitting swatches, casting on in the round, joining stitches in the round, magic loop technique, increasing and decreasing, etc. 4. Basic stitches in circular knitting such as knit stitch, purl stitch, stockinette stitch, garter stitch, etc. 5. Troubleshooting common circular knitting problems 6. 5 sample circular knitting projects to get you started in becoming a PRO And lots more! So, what are you waiting for? Socks continue to be a favorite project of knitters, but “single sock syndrome” — losing interest in knitting that second sock after the first one is done — is the perpetual dilemma.Knit 2 Socks in 1 introduces a distinctive new method that will appeal to sock knitters of all levels as the simplest, most accessible way yet developed to knit two socks at a time. This innovative technique begins with making the first sock’s cuff. The knitter can then relax and knit a long tube, which makes up the main body of both socks. With the help of a lifeline (scrap yarn that is threaded through stitches to hold them in place), the knitter can easily separate the long tube into two socks. The heels and toes are worked with a simple two-row repeat and are finished with a “hat closure,” a novice knitting technique often used to close the tops of hats. Much like choosing an alternate ending in a classic “Choose Your Own Adventure” book, the knitter can choose from 21 different sock styles, featuring a wide range of stitch patterns, design elements, levels of difficulty, and sizes ranging from child to adult. Knit 2 Socks in 1 is a tried-and-true sock-knitting technique that allows knitters from all backgrounds to join in on the fun. This publication conforms to the EPUB Accessibility specification at WCAG 2.0 Level AA.
