Mental Illness, a taboo subject for most, a silent killer plaguing young men and women around the world. We live in a world where nobody knows what to say or how to talk about these things. When somebody makes the decision to self-harm, to shut themselves away, to even take their own life, how can we as people begin to understand them?Hell if i know, but the least I can do is to try and simplify things for people who don't understand. My name is Danny, I'm a 25 year old Essex boy living in Sweden. I'm an aspiring preschool teacher, a gamer and a massive dork. I love to sing, to play music, and to try and bring the best out of people.I also suffer with depression and anxiety. I've struggled for so many years with people calling me overdramatic, soft or weak for events beyond my control. In the past twelve months I've gone through some of the most trialing things I've ever had to deal with. Losing my job, my family, my home, wandering through life not knowing who I really was or where I was really going. With the recent suicide of a man who I admired greatly, I made a decision to try understand these thoughts that rattle around my mind. Armed with nothing but a horrible quality laptop, some antidepressives and an arsenal of sarcasm, I've taken the time to look at my past, connect the dots with stories I've been told from other sufferers, and to try and create what I feel is a guidebook to the world of struggling to be happy, from the perspective of somebody who cried the day his mum told him they just got broadband internet. (I was about 12, i'm not exactly an ancient specimen sure, but you try living with dial-up for that long.)This book is my way of finding my way back to sanity. I can only hope that it can help others out there do the same. If you, or somebody else in your life suffers with depression, these notes are for you.You are not alone in the world, and if you give me a chance i'll prove it to you. If i made it through, battered and broken though I may be, then anybody has that potential. It's all a matter of perspective, so I hope you'll let me try and change your outlook to something more positive. That or if I can get a few cheap laughs in I'll count that as some sort of success.

Chester And Gus written by Cammie McGovern and has been published by HarperCollins this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-04-04 with Juvenile Fiction categories.

Critically acclaimed author Cammie McGovern presents a heartwarming and humorous middle grade novel about the remarkable bond that forms between an aspiring service dog and an autistic boy in need of a friend. “Joyful, inspiring, and completely winning, Chester and Gus is unforgettable,” proclaimed Katherine Applegate, #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Newbery Medal winner The One and Only Ivan. Chester has always wanted to become a service dog. When he fails his certification test, though, it seems like that dream will never come true—until a family adopts him. They want him to be a companion for their ten-year-old son, Gus, who has autism. But Gus acts so differently than anyone Chester has ever met. He never wants to pet Chester, and sometimes he doesn’t even want Chester in the room. Chester’s not sure how to help Gus since this isn’t exactly the job he trained for—but he’s determined to figure it out. Because after all, Gus is now his person. In the spirit of beloved classics like Because of Winn-Dixie, Shiloh, and Old Yeller, Cammie McGovern’s heartfelt novel—told from Chester’s point of view—explores the extraordinary friendship between a child and a dog with a poignant and modern twist.

"There is sufficient power in the miracles of Christ, and the Christ of miracles, to enable us to live in the spirit of holy hilarity." A delightful look at the joy-producing miracles of Jesus in the book of John, from changing water into wine, to healing the blind man, to walking on water. These seven signposts in the Gospel of John point us to Christ, the ultimate cause of our rejoicing. Marshall Hoffman takes us beyond the miracles to their underlying message and pattern, showing how each sign points away from itself to the Lord of glory who is working in our lives. Each sign directs us to a "scenic route" that opens up a breathtaking view of Jesus' delightful sense of humor. Encounter a power that will lift your heart in ever-laughing life. "All the signs point to the person of Christ who has the power to enable us to turn our frowns into smiles. We need the power of the resurrection to create a lifestyle of holy humor. By faith we can tap into the Christ of miracles, and the miracles of Christ, and find them sufficient for our needs. "By faith in the Risen One, we can receive miraculous power to rise from our pallets of pessimism and walk the path of praise, at times leaping for joy with the precious privilege of making our incomparable Jesus the subject of our exultation."

Sometimes life just stinks. People disappoint. Bad things happen. Hardship comes in double helpings. The last thing you want to do is laugh. So let hilarious humorist Phil Callaway show you—as only he can—that some of the darkest times are those just before the fridge door opens. *** ** *** ** “Everything Phil Callaway writes is full of life because he’s discovered a fabulous secret: The joy of Christ doesn’t go away, even when life is a mess.” Luis Palau, President of the Luis Palau Evangelistic Association “Phil really knows how to get in touch with his spiritual funny bone.” Janette Oke, Bestselling author “One page into this book and I’m quaking with laughter. And at the moment we realize that life can just plain stink, “this book helps us know where to go from that point,” he says. Celebrities like Dave Dravecky, Barbara Johnson, Gloria Gaither, and Joni Eareckson Tada have endorsed Callaway’s positive approach to trials. “Everything Phil Callaway writes is full of life because he’s discovered a fabulous secret: The joy of Christ doesn’t go away, even when life is a mess,” says evangelist Luis Palau.

The Sunday Times Bestseller 'A beautiful book' Giovanna Fletcher 'Will stay with you long after you have put it down' Jools Oliver 'Bold, compelling... will blow you away' Marina Fogle 'Heartbreaking... such an important read' Sarah Turner (The Unmumsy Mum) *********************************************** What do you do when the unthinkable happens? Elle Wright had an admittedly easy pregnancy, and in May 2016 she and her husband welcomed their son, Teddy, into the world. Just a few hours later, they woke to find him cold and unresponsive, and the happiest day of Elle's life had turned into every parent's worst nightmare. Three days after delivering him into the world, she sat with Teddy as he took his last breaths, and tucked him in for the final time. Ask Me His Name is a moving account of Elle's pregnancy, Teddy's life, and what happens when a mother leaves hospital with empty arms. In the UK, 1 in 4 pregnancies end in loss, but conversations about the heartbreakingly frequent experience are few and far between. In this honest and hopeful exploration of mothering, Elle shows us how she navigated a parenthood no one had prepared her for. * A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to Tommy's charity. In the Psychological profession, there was a problem in the grief support protocol: It just wasn't working, especially when a husband or father had died. Grieving widows and children were paying lots of money for professional advice, and the advice was sound and logical. But it wasn't comforting. Then after his own father was killed, author Howard Bronson just began writing, without direction, goals or any structure. The result is this special book you now see. Bronson wrote from the heart, to the heart. That's what was missing. Anyone can speak to our heads and give us methods for recovery. But few can speak to the heart where the real hurt is. If you're grieving, this is the book to read. It won't magically make your sorrow disappear, but it will show you that you are not alone in your heartache, and that it's okay to heal, and that you will feel better over time. Also, of note, excerpts of this book have been quoted alongside quotes of both Abraham Lincoln and Aristotle in the Gibson Bereavement book, 'In Sympathy.'
