This book mainly serves as an elementary, self-contained introduction to several important aspects of the theory of global solutions to initial value problems for nonlinear evolution equations. The book employs the classical method of continuation of local solutions with the help of a priori estimates obtained for small data. The existence and uniqueness of small, smooth solutions that are defined for all values of the time parameter are investigated. Moreover, the asymptotic behaviour of the solutions is described as time tends to infinity. The methods for nonlinear wave equations are discussed in detail. Other examples include the equations of elasticity, heat equations, the equations of thermoelasticity, Schrödinger equations, Klein-Gordon equations, Maxwell equations and plate equations. To emphasize the importance of studying the conditions under which small data problems offer global solutions, some blow-up results are briefly described. Moreover, the prospects for corresponding initial boundary value problems and for open questions are provided. In this second edition, initial-boundary value problems in waveguides are additionally considered.

Selected Papers On Analysis And Differential Equations written by 野水克己 and has been published by American Mathematical Soc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2003 with Mathematics categories.
This volume contains translations of papers that originally appeared in the Japanese journal, Sugaku. Ordinarily the papers would appear in the AMS translation of that journal, but to expedite publication, the Society has chosen to publish them as a volume of selected papers. The papers range over a variety of topics, including nonlinear partial differential equations, $C*$-algebras, and Schrodinger operators. The volume is suitable for graduate students and research mathematicians interested in analysis and differential equations.

Annotation Ito (North Carolina State U.) and Kappel (U. of Graz, Austria) offer a unified presentation of the general approach for well-posedness results using abstract evolution equations, drawing from and modifying the work of K. and Y. Kobayashi and S. Oharu. They also explore abstract approximation results for evolution equations. Their work is not a textbook, but they explain how instructors can use various sections, or combinations of them, as a foundation for a range of courses. Evolutionary Equations With Applications In Natural Sciences written by Jacek Banasiak and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-11-07 with Mathematics categories.
With the unifying theme of abstract evolutionary equations, both linear and nonlinear, in a complex environment, the book presents a multidisciplinary blend of topics, spanning the fields of theoretical and applied functional analysis, partial differential equations, probability theory and numerical analysis applied to various models coming from theoretical physics, biology, engineering and complexity theory. Truly unique features of the book are: the first simultaneous presentation of two complementary approaches to fragmentation and coagulation problems, by weak compactness methods and by using semigroup techniques, comprehensive exposition of probabilistic methods of analysis of long term dynamics of dynamical systems, semigroup analysis of biological problems and cutting edge pattern formation theory. The book will appeal to postgraduate students and researchers specializing in applications of mathematics to problems arising in natural sciences and engineering.
