Das Gesamtkonzept beschreibt u.a. die für das Störungs- und Therapieverständnis wichtigen Prinzipien und stellt für Schulen u.a. praxisorientierte Theorien, Modelle und Arbeitsmaterialien zur Verfügung. Ergebnisse aus der psychologischen Grundlagenforschung bilden die Basis. Die Begründer bieten auf den allgemeinen Prinzipien des Lernens beruhende Lernmodelle an, die der Grundlagenforschung zwar schon lange bekannt sind, ihrer Meinung nach in der Praxis aber ungenügend umgesetzt werden. Lernen für alle, mit den gleichen Mitteln, lautet die Botschaft. Ob und wie sie in der Praxis erreicht und umgesetzt werden kann, soll hier betrachtet, erklärt und beantwortet werden.
