LaRhonda Mclemore was faced with many challenges and obstacles earlier on in life that she had to overcome. When she was seventeen years old, her father passed away surprisingly from an overdose on cocaine. A year and half later her mother went to prison. At the age of nineteen, LaRhonda was forced to take custody of her two younger siblings, ages seven and eleven or they would've entered into states custody. Ms. Mclemore raised and took care of her younger siblings for a total of seven years, which inspired her to write seven chapters within this book. In spite of LaRhonda's circumstances, she didn't allow it to define nor discourage her. She believes that season of her life was preparation for the future. This in return prepared her to have the resilience, courage and passion to progress forward in life. This book was written to provide hope, inspire resilience in the face of adversity and to encourage people all around the world to never give up on their dreams. We are all faced with something in life.
