In some respects, this second book of poetry is quite similar to the first. In other ways, it is quite different. This particular book of poetry encompasses a broader range of subjects that have not only influenced me but society as a whole. I welcome this revelation as the future of our society seems bleak without us coming together in one spirit and not divided along any lines that would cause inferiority or superiority between humanity in general. There is great hatred that has permeated our culture from its inception. It is my belief and hope that through love, we can come together to appreciate our differences and our similarities. I fervently believe that the path to perfect love is only obtained through the love of God. As a Christian, I have come to embrace my great weaknesses and the courage to commit my life to not judging others but loving them. This book of poetry attempts to convey this message by glorifying the Person of Jesus Christ through the humility of words. I'm forever indebted to God for my family, without whom, the inspiration for many poems would not have come about.

How children’s non-belief and non-religion are formed in everyday life The number of those identifying as “non-religious” has risen rapidly in Britain and many other parts of Europe and North America. Although non-religion and non-belief are especially prevalent among younger people, we know little about the experience of children who are growing up without religion. In Growing Up Godless, Anna Strhan and Rachael Shillitoe fill this scholarly gap, examining how, when, where, and with whom children in England learn to be non-religious and non-believing. Drawing on in-depth interviews and extensive ethnographic fieldwork with children, their parents, and teachers, Strhan and Shillitoe offer a pioneering account of what these children believe in and care about and how they navigate a social landscape of growing religious diversity. Moving beyond the conventional understanding of non-religion as merely the absence of religion, Strhan and Shillitoe show how children’s non-religion and non-belief emerge in relation to a pervasive humanism—centering the agency, significance, and achievements of humans and values of equality and respect—interwoven in their homes, schools, media, and culture. Their findings offer important new insight into the rise and formation of non-religious identities and, more broadly, the ways that children’s beliefs and values are shaped in contemporary society.

This cross-cultural edited volume presents a rich tapestry of experiences, challenges, and innovations, focusing on assessment, course and curriculum design, approaches to pedagogy and teacher professional development in computer-assisted language learning (CALL) in the Global South. Comprising chapters from a broad swathe of international contexts, the book presents varied themes in CALL such as inclusion and social justice, artificial intelligence, barriers to online language teaching, skills-based practices, and professional development. By shedding light on the underrepresented research contexts in the Global South, a number of current innovations in these contexts at theoretical and empirical levels are showcased, resulting in a highly novel and cutting-edge volume that gives voice to perspectives on the implementation of CALL in less-privileged countries. Providing comparative research and innovative ways in which CALL can be harnessed in less-privileged contexts despite lack of resources in some cases, this book will appeal to scholars, researchers, and postgraduate students in the fields of technology in education, language and linguistics, as well as open and distance education and eLearning. CALL and TESOL educators may also benefit from the book.

Have you ever watched an inappropriately rated movie with children and later regretted it? As hosts of the weekly radio review show and authors of Frame by Frame: 2006-A Family-Friendly Guide to the Movies , Dr. Rus and Sandra Jeffrey cut through the Hollywood hype to offer concise, easy-to-read movie reviews designed with families in mind. In addition to movie reviews, you'll also find a more complete analysis of what they cover on the radio each week. Some movies they "tank," an expression they use when they trash a movie-but that doesn't mean they can't find any redeeming factors. As a result, the couple discusses all aspects of each movie, focusing on the positive and negative elements. Most importantly, the Jeffreys encourage families to watch movies together, and they provide discussion starters so the entire family can talk about what they have just watched. Challenging Professional Learning written by Sue Crowley and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-10-23 with Education categories.
Teachers and trainers are dual-professionals – they are required to have up-to-date industry skills and also skills in teaching and learning. The issue of professional identity, and the promotion of maintaining and building pedagogic expertise in relation to their vocational work, is therefore an extremely important one. This book argues that quality teaching and learning is very much dependent upon teachers and trainers undergoing continuing professional development (CPD), engaging actively in professional learning activities, generating professional learning communities and building their level of professionalism to meet increasing teaching standards. Unfortunately, CPD is battling a context of intensification of work, pressure of time and economic restrictions. The completion of CPD under such conditions can often become tokenistic and hitherto there has been very little research or evidence base for determining what approaches to CPD are most effective and efficient. Challenging Professional Learning draws on a wealth of recent research and evidence on what ingredients are necessary for effective and efficient (crucial at a time of such fiscal constraints) professional learning. It also explores the wider implications of these findings and the concept of learning as a collective activity. It argues that real professionalism cannot be achieved in isolation but instead takes place in a context that has political, social and cultural influences. The book brings together research from the Institute for Learning and practice around professional learning to link both individual and collective professional learning to organisational learning, leadership and the management of change whilst offering practical suggestions for improving these practices. It will be of great interest to teacher educators and their students at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, as well as anyone who works in higher education and with professional development.
