The Spanish civil war is considered a key point of analysis of the first half of the 1900s because of the peculiar context in which it developed, the ideologies that provoked it and for the controversies that still accompany it. An event of this magnitude has had and continues to have a great resonance in literature; this essay compares two authors at the antipodes, which well summarize the socio-political debate that accompanies the theme: José María Gironella, author close to the regime, and Juan Benet, hermetic writer. The contrast between the motivations and objectives of the two writers is accompanied by incompatible narrative choices. With memory as both a judge and a defendant, the authors open two different paths of communication with the reader: from history to man, from man to history.

Il volume presenta l’edizione critica del Cammino di Dante, prima sintesi topo-cronografica della Commedia dantesca, scritta dal notaio fiorentino ser Piero Bonaccorsi (1410-1477) per il frate di Santa Croce Romolo de’ Medici. L’edizione è preceduta da un’introduzione bio-bibliografica sull’autore, in cui sono messi in risalto alcuni aspetti inediti relativi alla sua carriera notarile, alla sua attività letteraria e al rapporto con personaggi significativi del tempo. Sono poi presentati i sette manoscritti testimoni dell’opera, tra i quali figurano ben quattro autografi bonaccorsiani, e se ne definiscono i rapporti testuali. Viene proposto infine un testo critico basato sul codice Riccardiano 1122, ultima redazione autografa completa, di cui si pubblica anche l’inedita appendice teologica.

The volume investigates the reception of Senecan tragedies during Humanism, focusing on printed editions and on translations in Florentine vernacular language. The first chapter summarizes the manuscript transmission of the tragedies up to the first age of printing, with a glimpse to their possible theatrical representations. The second chapter contains the description of the printed editions from the princeps (before 1478) to the three-comment edition by Josse Bade (1514): I analysed the main paratexts, with a focus on the commentaries by Gellio Bernardino Marmitta, Daniele Caetani, and Josse Bade, and reconstructed the identities of the personalities who contributed to the publication of the tragedies. The third chapter offers a stylistic study of the five vernacular translations produced up to the year 1498. In the volume I publish the translations by Evangelista Fossa (Agamennone) and Pizio da Montevarchi (Hercule furent and Hyppolito), which lacked a modern edition.

La lettura iconologica dei dipinti di Crespi per il Gran Principe Ferdinando de’Medici rivela le comuni idee, ispirate a Seneca, alla base del loro gusto per le scene “di genere” e pastorali. Crespi fu un esponente di spicco del mecenatismo del Medici, per cui le arti guidavano alla sapienza e alla virtù. Il loro apprezzamento per le iconografie bizzarre e la pittura di tocco si spiega con idee di matrice senechiana sull’ingegno e sul furor. I caratteri di brevità, brillantezza, compresenza di arcaismo e novità unificarono il mecenatismo artistico e musicale del Gran Principe, influenzando lo stile di artisti e musicisti attivi alla sua corte e forse il collezionismo di Händel.

La riflessione sullo statuto epistemologico e sul funzionamento politico del discorso biologico – nel suo carattere eterogeneo, plurale e conflittuale – è un tema centrale nelle opere di Michel Foucault e Georges Canguilhem. A partire dall’analisi delle relazioni e delle tensioni tra i loro orientamenti teorici, questo studio propone una rilettura critica delle loro ricerche, integrandole e utilizzandole nei dibattiti epistemologici e politici contemporanei. In tal senso, la filosofia biologica di Canguilhem permette di riesaminare la concezione foucaultiana della storia, della società, della soggettività, della tecnica, dell’ambiente, e di reinterrogare in una prospettiva socio-ecologica ed eco-storica lo spazio d’intervento delle tecnologie biopolitiche.

He objective of this work is to investigate the meaning of myth in the work of Yvan Goll (1891-1950), a Franco-German, bilingual and Jewish poet. In his poems, characters of the classical tradition alternate with biblical and historical figures: among all stands out the topic of the myth of Europe, understood as a geographical space and universal homeland for all those who, born in a borderland like Goll, feel "heimatlos", that is stateless. The aim of the thesis is to demonstrate how the artist's dialogue with the myth follows precise and constant rules with a clear goal: to send a strong message to the contemporary world. Taking into consideration the works dedicated to the mythical heritage, it is observed how after the Mythisierung (mythisation) of the old continent, the author deconstructs his own creation through a systematic Entmythisierung (demythisation).
