"In whatever way reality may be described, that is not Reality as it is" Reading the Tao Te Ching is like drinking from a pure mountain stream. In its gentle admonishment for a life of simplicity, harmony, and humility, it serves as a reminder of what we have lost in our pursuits of attainment. Lao Tzu beckons us to return to a state of childlike innocence, to a purified vision of the mysteriousness inherent in all things, and to a state of uncomplicated wonder. This translation of the Tao Te Ching is founded on a unified vision of all the great paths of Eastern wisdom. In its return to the clarity of Lao Tzu's original path, it encompasses the essence of the Buddha's teachings from the Pali canon, the profound depths of the Mahayana sutras, the directness of Zen, and the wondrous non-duality of Advaita Vedanta. About the translator: Ariya Mutti is a solitary monk devoted to a life of effortlessness and simplicity. As a lifelong student of all Eastern philosophies, he holds the Tao Te Ching to have the final say in harmonious living and unaffected relinquishment. Living in the mountains of Southern Africa, he spends his days in serene meditation.

Philosophy Of Liberation written by Enrique Dussel and has been published by Wipf and Stock Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2003-12-02 with Religion categories.

Argentinean philosopher, theologian, and historian Enrique Dussel understands the present international order as divided into the "culture of the center" -- by which he means the ruling elite of Europe, North America, and Russia -- and "the peoples of the periphery" -- by which he means the populations of Latin America, Africa, and part of Asia, and the oppressed classes (including women and children) throughout the world. In 'Philosophy of Liberation,' he presents a profound analysis of the alienation of peripheral peoples resulting from the imperialism of the center for more than five centuries. Dussel's aim is to demonstrate that the center's historic cultural, military, and economic domination of poor countries is 'philosophically' founded on North Atlantic onthology. By expressing supposedly universal knowledge, European philosophies, argues Dussel, have served to equate the cultural standards, modes of behavior, and rationalistic orientation of the West with human nature and to condemn the unique characteristics of peripheral peoples as "nonbeing, nothing, chaos, irrationality." Hence, Western philosophies have historically legitimated and hidden the domination that oppressed cultures have suffered at the hands of the center. Dussel probes multinational corporations, the communications media, and the armies of the center with their counterparts among the Third World elite. The creation of a just world order in the future, according to Dussel, hinges on the liberation of the periphery, based on a philosophy that is able to "think the world" from the perspective of the poor and to reclaim the Third World's distinct cultural inheritance, which is imbedded in the popular cultures of the poor. Apart from the liberation of the periphery, there will be no future: "the center will feed itself on the sameness it has ingrained within itself. The death of the child, of the poor, will be its own death." This is a disquieting but stimulating book for scholars and advanced students of philosophy, ethics, liberation theology, and global politics.

A perfect companion to the well-known Tibetan Book of the Dead. In life and in death, in meditation and in sleep, every transitional stage of consciousness, or bardo, provides an opportunity to overcome limitations, frustrations, and fears. The profound teachings in this book provide the under- standing and instruction necessary to turn every phase of life into an opportunity for uncontrived, natural liberation. Like the Tibetan Book of the Dead, Natural Liberation is a terma, a "hidden treasure" attributed to the eighth-century master Padmasambhava. Gyatrul Rinpoche's lucid commentary accompanies the text, illuminating the path of awakening to the point of full enlightenment. Natural Liberation is an essential contribution to the library of both scholars and practitioners of Tibetan Buddhism.

A profound wisdom which transforms and liberates In this book we feel the absolute directness and freedom of Zen. With clear words that expose each illusion, Zen Master Zensho captures the essence in a nutshell. He shows us the mirror of our true being, and in it we recognise our constantly present buddha-nature, our original, true self. His clear words are filled with such spiritual force that they touch us at our very deepest. Here, the logic of our conceptual, discriminating thinking is often profoundly shaken so that we can grasp the truth beyond all words. In a clear and lively way, Zensho shows us a direct path to spiritual realisation and, by means of authentic Zen-anecdotes and quotes, he brings to life the old masters of Zen. With Zenistic consistency, everything is swept away so that we are able to reach liberation of the mind beyond our limited intellectual logic and can experience the state of pure awareness. Special to this book are Master Zensho's 50 expressive drawings, which breathe the Zen mind. A book which imparts the fundamentals of Zen-Buddhism.

A unique feature of all the different schools of Indian philosophy is that, irrespective of being orthodox or heterodox, they always struggle to answer the problem of the bondage and the liberation. Both the philosophies; Advaita and Saiva Siddhanta are no exceptions. Together they accept the existence of the bondage that keeps the individual self away from the realization of the absolute self and strive to find the most probable way of breaking down the bonds for gaining the ultimate freedom. This book is a critical approach to compare the ways in which both the schools of Saiva Siddhanta and Advaita attempt to solve the vital problem of bondage and liberation.

Hegel S Grand Synthesis written by Daniel Berthold-Bond and has been published by SUNY Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1989-01-01 with Philosophy categories.

This book offers the first genuinely systematic treatment of Hegel's eschatology in the literature. It is an investigation into Hegel's project to demonstrate the ultimate unity of thought and being (consciousness and reality, self and world). The author traces the project through Hegel's epistemology, metaphysics, and philosophy of history. The grand synthesis creates a basic tension, an ambivalence, that reaches its most acute formulation in Hegel's eschatological language of a final completion or fulfillment of history. This conflicts with his dialectic and Heracletian metaphysics of becoming. Berthold-Bond concludes that a substantially new approach to Hegel's eschatology is needed.

Raya Dunayevskaya is hailed as the founder of Marxist-Humanism in the United States. In this new collection of her essays co-editors Peter Hudis and Kevin B. Anderson have crafted a work in which the true power and originality of Dunayevskaya's ideas are displayed. This extensive collection of writings on Hegel, Marx, and dialectics captures Dunayevskaya's central dictum that, contrary to the established views of Hegelians and Marxists, Hegel was of signal importance to the theory and practice of Marxism. The Power of Negativity sheds light not only on Marxist-Humanism and the rooting of Dunayevskaya's Marxist-Humanist theories in Hegel, but also on the life of one of America's most penetrating and provocative critical thinkers.
