Life in the Body God Gave Me allows you to experience the intimate thoughts and secrets of Neil H. Tasker, a spastic, who reveals through this writing, his life experiences and devout faith in the God he loved. The deep feelings portrayed unveil life from his boyhood, when he first heard the words of an innocent child: My mother told me not to laugh at you, but I can't help it, through his adult years. The journey climaxes many years later as Neil makes a final plea to the Virgin Mary to answer his prayers, in the city of Lourdes, for a miracle that would set him free and cure him of cerebral palsy. This story shows us we cannot ignore that with Gods love and mercy all things are possible. In His eyes we are created equal, and anyone who puts his trust in God and follows his heart will be truly rewarded.

All bodies are good bodies. Except fat bodies. At least that’s what our society tells us. According to the prevailing dogma, thin bodies are good; fat bodies are bad. In fact, any body that fails to measure up to society’s standards of perfection is bad. The perfect face has no blemishes, the perfect belly has no love handles, and the perfect skin has no wrinkles or stretch marks. According to this standard of flawlessness, a good body can have no illness, no disability, and no inadequacy. Our cultural understanding of good bodies makes most of us feel like hopeless failures. This is not what our loving God wants for us. In Lovely, size-dignity activist and self-proclaimed “fat girl” Amanda Martinez Beck talks openly about the purpose of bodies, what makes a body good, and the need to reframe the way we think and speak about our own bodies and the bodies of the people around us. Much more than a “self-image” read, Lovely will retrain you to think about your whole self — body and soul — in terms of mercy, kindness, and wonder rather than criticism, failure, and self-loathing. Don’t let the scale, the mirror, your interior critic, or the world around you keep you trapped in lies. All bodies are good bodies, including yours. "God's eternal plan for us involves our body. We can't write off our physical life as spiritually irrelevant." — Sam Allberry There's a danger in focusing too much on the body. There's also a danger in not valuing it enough. In fact, the Bible has lots to say about the body. With the coming of Jesus, "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us"—flesh that was pierced and crushed for the sins of the world. In What God Has to Say about Our Bodies, Sam Allberry explains that all of us are fearfully and wonderfully made, and should regard our physicality as a gift. He offers biblical guidance for living, including understanding gender, sexuality, and identity; dealing with aging, illness, and death; and considering the physical future hope that we have in Christ. In this powerfully written book, you'll gain a new understanding for the immeasurable value of our bodies and God's ultimate plan to redeem them.

Profound reflections on the cross that help you to meditate on and marvel at the sacrificial love of Jesus. This book can be used as a devotional, especially during Lent and Easter. Many of us are so familiar with the Easter story that it becomes easy to miss subtle details and difficult to really enjoy its meaning. This book will help you to pause and marvel at Jesus, whose now-glorified wounds are a sign of his unfailing love and the decisive victory that he has won: “He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5) This book can be used as a devotional. The chapters on Holy Week make it especially helpful during the Lent season and at Easter.

The winner of The Next Food Network Star season five and New York Times best-selling author of Ten Dollar Dinners shares how God used food to invite her into His love. It wasn't until Melissa d'Arabian evaluated her relationship with food in light of her relationship with God that she began to appreciate food as not only a gift from him but also as a deeper invitation into his love. As she prayed, studied Scripture, and reflected on the stories from her own life, Melissa saw how God had used food to draw her into community, to redeem her moments of greatest tragedy, and ultimately to connect her more to him. In Tasting Grace, Melissa shares sixteen invitations that will transform your perception of food and the role it plays in your own life, from equality to connection to hospitality to stewardship and more. She explains how through her experiences, she learned to trust the ingredients--in recipes and in life--and join God in the act of creation. Whether you are a mom struggling to throw together a healthy meal for your family each night or a single woman longing for fellowship around your table, you will draw encouragement and inspiration from Melissa's reminder that all food, first and foremost, is a gift from God. When you return to him as the source, you will find the freedom to enjoy his beautiful and delicious creation. Advance praise for Tasting Grace “What a beautiful book. Using stories of her own triumphs and pain, Melissa digs past the surface layers of food as we see it on television, in cookbooks, and on social media. Rather, she helps us think about it in a whole new way—as nothing short of a spiritual force, a vessel through which we can experience (and extend) compassion, comfort, fellowship, love, enjoyment, and grace. It has given me a brand-new lens with which to examine the deeper significance of the food I cook, eat, and share.”—Ree Drummond, author of The Pioneer Woman Cooks “The intersection between faith and food is endlessly interesting to me, and Melissa articulates the significance and beauty of that intersection so well. Melissa is a great storyteller, and she invites us into her story and gives us a seat at her table with graciousness and wisdom. This is a lovely, meaningful book.”—Shauna Niequist, New York Times best-selling author of Present Over Perfect and Bread and Wine “This is a beautifully written book. These aren’t just words on pages; they are an invitation to a feast, to hospitality, and to finding lasting purpose in your life. Melissa has set a table fit for a King, pulled our chairs, and reminded us there’s a place for us here. This is a book that will not only feed your imagination but also your soul.” —Bob Goff, author of New York Times bestsellers Love Does and Everybody Always

Abundant Life For Your Spirit Soul And Body written by Trevor Bartley and has been published by Xlibris Corporation this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-03-29 with Religion categories.

Our opening verse for this book is from John 10:10b, I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows). The Greek word used here for life is zo. So we can conclude that Jesus came to show us how to have and enjoy the god kind of life. As a born-again believer you have been recreated and given a new life code (or DNA) to live by, and Jesus came to show us how to live that new creation reality here on earth. The Bible tells us in John 3:16, For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He (even) gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life. Then in Romans 6:23 it tells us, For the wages which sin pays is death, but the bountiful free gift of God is eternal (the god kind of) life through and in union with Jesus Christ our Lord. This eternal life he came to give us is the very nature of God. In John 1:4 we can get a better understanding of what this life will do for us: In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men. One of the meanings for light in the dictionary is a state of understanding or awareness. So we could read this verse like this: in him was the god kind of life, and the god kind of life was the state of understanding and awareness for men. Let us live out of the zo kind of life and determine to be led by the spirit of God in all that we do so we can live in the actual abundance of God. Amen.
