After the Roaring '20s came the Great Depression. After the Roaring 2000s came the Great Recession. We're now entering the winter season of the 80-Year Four Season Economic Cycle. It's during this season that we'll clear the decks with a devastating crash and debilitating deflation. The economy and markets will shed the excesses created during the preceding fall bubble boom season and prepare the soil for new blossoming in innovation and a spring boom. After the blustering bull market of 2009-2015, we are now preparing for a shakeout more painful than anything we've seen before. We have eight years of unprecedented government stimulus and money creation to thank for stretching this bubble beyond imagination and making the burst more painful than anything we've ever experienced. There's no better guide to financial cycles than Harry S. Dent Jr., the bestselling author of The Demographic Cliff and many other books, and the editor of the Boom & Bust newsletter. For more than 30 years he has earned a reputation for eerily accurate predictions about the world economy and the financial markets. Now Dent has an urgent new warning about the next crisis. The consequences will be devastating--but there's a bright side that he's calling "the sale of a lifetime." For anyone who heeds the signs and follows Dent's advice, the looming correction is a once-in-a-century opportunity to gather immense wealth. In this pressing book, you'll learn not only why a collapse is imminent, but how to identify bubbles and tune in to the cycles driving that drive booms and busts. Practical, accessible, and illuminating, The Sale of a Lifetime will protect you from the tough challenges ahead and help you cash in on the unique opportunities of the next few years. At stake is nothing less than your entire financial future.

Britain S Competitiveness written by Dr Christopher Carr and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2003-09-02 with Business & Economics categories.

This book addresses the widespread concern regarding British industry's ability to compete internationally. Through an analysis of the UK automotive components sector, the author examines the central issues at the core of the competitiveness debate and outlines why there has been such a widespread and severe decline in the performance of British manufacturing. It draws on findings from visits to thirty British manufacturers and also to thirty overseas manufacturers in Germany, the USA and Japan, matched on a product basis to allow comparisons and a genuine international perspective. The author concludes that competitive decline is due, in part, to a weakness in the strategic management capability of many UK companies, and also to the lack of adequate co-ordination and co-operation between customer and supplier industries. Dr Carr identifies the remaining areas of vulnerability and priorities for action, and finally considers the implications for Britain's overall competitiveness.

Plant Ecology In The Middle East written by Ahmad Hegazy and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-01-14 with Science categories.

This advanced textbook explores the intriguing flora and plant ecology of the Middle East, framed by a changing desert landscape, global climate change, and the arc of human history. This vast region has been largely under-recognized, under-studied, and certainly under-published, due in part to the challenges posed to research by political disputes and human conflict, and a treatise on the subject is now timely. The book integrates Middle Eastern plant geography and its major drivers (geo-tectonics, seed and fruit dispersal, plant functional types, etc.) with the principles of plant ecology. The authors include the many specialized adaptations to desert and dryland ecosystems including succulence, water-conserving photosynthesis, and a remarkable range of other life history strategies. They explore the formation of 'climate relicts', and describe the long history of domestication in the region together with the many reciprocal effects of agriculture on plant ecology. The book concludes by discussing conservation in the region, highlighting five regional biodiversity hotspots where the challenges of desertification, habitat loss, and other threats to plant biodiversity are particularly acute. Plant Ecology in the Middle East is a timely synthesis of the field, setting a new baseline for future research. It will be important reading for both undergraduate and graduate students taking courses in plant ecology, evolution, systematics, biodiversity, and conservation, and will also be of interest and use to a professional audience of botanists, conservation biologists, and practitioners working in dryland ecosystems.

Ecology And Behavior Of Chickadees And Titmice written by Ken A. Otter and has been published by OUP Oxford this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007-02-01 with Science categories.

Chickadees and titmice are among the most popular birds in North America, due in large part to their readiness to use bird feeders, to nest in urban gardens, and even to be trained to take food from people's hands. These attributes have also made them (and their Eurasian tit counterparts) perhaps the most intensively studied bird family in the world. Long-term research in Europe has yielded some of the most comprehensive data on the impact of global warming on the breeding ecology of birds. Chickadees have amongst the best-studied and most complex vocal behaviour of any bird species, displaying one of the closest analogies to human sentence structure in the animal kingdom in their familiar chick-a-dee call. The social dominance hierarchies commonly witnessed in the form of squabbling at winter feeders are some of most stable and closely studied, and have huge impacts on controlling the lives of these small birds. Their food-storing behavior, and the brain and physiological mechanisms controlling this, has contributed significantly to our wider understanding of spatial orientation. In recent years, these birds have also been used as model species for investigating topics as diverse as inter-species hybridization, the impacts of forest fragmentation and complex systems of communication. In short, chickadees and titmice have contributed enormously to our understanding of a myriad of topics in ecology, behavior and psychology. This book brings together a range of experts from across North America who utilise chickadees or titmice as study organisms. Each chapter reviews the latest advances in evolution and behavioral research that have been accomplished through the study of North American Parids, and compares and contrasts this literature with research on their Eurasian counterparts as well as other avian families. This research level text is aimed at professional avian biologists and ornithologists as well as graduate students of avian behavioral ecology and evolution. It will also appeal to a more general audience of behavioural ecologists, neuroethologists and experimental psychologists.

Resource Competition written by James P. Grover and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12-06 with Science categories.

As one of the most quantitative of ecological subdisciplines, resource competition is an important, central area of ecology. Recently research into this area has increased dramatically and resource competition models have become more complex. The characterisation of this phenomenon is therefore the aim of this book. Resource Competition seeks to identify the unifying principles emerging from experimental and theoretical approaches as well as the differences between organisms, illustrating that greater knowledge of resource competition will benefit human and environmental welfare. This book will serve as an indispensable guide to ecologists, evolutionary biologists and environmental managers, and all those interested in resource competition as an emerging discipline.

Do you have questions about competition? Is anything wrong in having a competitive mind? Why is competition, like competitive sports, so controversial? Is competition only about success or failure? What's the difference between being competitive and engaging in competition? If you'd like to explore answers, this book is for you. Competition is something we take for granted like the ground we walk on, the air we breathe and the food we eat. While ground, air and food are essential, can the same be said of competition? Can we trust that competition's advocates know its pros and cons? Since competition touches everything, isn't it an acceptable part of life? Maybe it's time to challenge these assumptions. Would you be surprised to learn that competition is a common Bible topic? Incidents of competition are generously scattered throughout the Bible. If you desire a sound, authentic perspective on competition, one that zeroes in on its origin, nature, and effects, this book is your guide!
