Il panorama odierno delle riviste italiane di slavistica è relativamente ricco e comprende periodici che spesso hanno alle spalle molti anni o alcuni decenni di attività, abbracciando diverse aree degli studi slavi e coprendo ambiti tematici vasti e variegati o, in alcuni casi, presentando una specializzazione specifica. Tuttavia, settant’anni fa, quando nel lontano 1952 Giovanni Maver fondava “Ricerche slavistiche”, la situazione era ben diversa. Con l’Europa dell’Est situata al di là della cortina di ferro, la slavistica italiana attraversava una crisi profonda, con un numero di studenti drasticamente ridotto e con un interesse per gli argomenti slavi limitati a pochi iniziati. Grazie a “Ricerche slavistiche” gli studi slavi in Italia hanno ricevuto un nuovo, fondamentale impulso e si sono potuti sviluppare nei loro diversi ambiti, offrendo frutti il cui valore è stato non di rado riconosciuto anche a livello internazionale. Il volume si propone di ripercorrere i settant’anni di storia della rivista inquadrandola nella storia della slavistica italiana e consta di saggi che presentano i principali ambiti costitutivi degli studi inclusi in “Ricerche slavistiche”. L'ospitalità linguistica è una posizione tanto etica quanto epistemologica nei confronti dei problemi che presenta il compito di tradurre un testo letterario. Si tratta di permettere che un testo apra spazi nuovi nelle lingue e culture che lo accolgono, per farle risonare in maniera inedita. Il teorico Antoine Berman, in sintonia con la filosofia ermeneutica di Paul Ricoeur, ha delineato i principi e le griglie metodologiche di questa teoria. Il presente volume rende suoi quei principi e percorsi analitici per verificare la loro operatività in un lavoro di traduttologia comparata. Il corpus è dato dalle traduzioni dei racconti di El Llano en llamas di Juan Rulfo al tedesco, inglese, danese e italiano. Si identificano i processi di trasformazione - linguistica e culturale - ai quali i traduttori devono cedere nell'affrontare un'opera di lingua e pensiero stranieri. L'analisi si incentra quindi sulla descrizione delle negoziazioni necessarie per trasporre lo stile ed i micro-universi testuali di Rulfo alle quattro lingue di arrivo. Il caso dei racconti di Rulfo, che più che altri testi richiedono la partecipazione attiva del lettore nel processo di interpretazione, risulta ideale per illustrare in che modo la traduzione può essere al contempo accesso e non-accesso al testo straniero.
