It is claimed that the trauma of birth leaves an unconscious memory and it is likely that any previous lives would leave similar memories which too can be recalled under hypnosis. This book is a fascinating and true story of apparent regression (a return to the reactions that belong to an earlier state of development). Under hypnosis Peggy Bailey, an ordinary housewife, relives three completely different lives. From the very human story that led to the first regression experiment (fortuitously recorded on tape) and the first meeting with eighteenth century 'Sally Fraser' in Devon, through 'Liza Bloggs' in the nineteenth century and 'Lady Alice Browning' in the early part of the present century, the account leaps forward sixteen years when further regressions to these former lives are attempted - with exciting results. The dual authorship of the book has resulted in an original and unique 'case book': the trained hypnotist describing verbatim each hypnotic session followed by separate assessment and discussion by the established psychical researcher. Investigation is undertaken on the basis of material obtained and such problems as self-delusion, hypnotic influence, psychic memories and multiple role-taking are carefully considered. The book is a valuable contribution to the growing literature on the subject of reincarnation and is likely to become a classic of its kind. Psychical researchers, reincarnationists, hypnotists, psychologists and the general reader will find Lives to Remember a book to read and read again; a book that is different, a book that is true and a book that breaks new ground and opens new doors. For the first time one book we are presented with a full and factual story of a person 'regressed' by a competent hypnotist and the results assessed by an acknowledged psychical researcher. It is the first example of 'regression' to previous lives with an interval of sixteen years between each repeated experiment.

Live And Remember written by Valentin Rasputin and has been published by Northwestern University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1992 with Fiction categories.

From Back Cover: Live and Remember is one of the most important works of Russian literature of the post-Stalin, pre-glasnost era. First published in Russian in 1974, it was immediately hailed by Soviet critics as a superb-if atypical-example of war literature and a moving depiction of the degradation and ultimate damnation of a frontline deserter-although it did provoke controversy for its sympathetic portrayal of the deserter's wife. But the novel has also attracted the attention of both Western and Soviet critics for it masterly psychological portrait of two characters caught in a hopeless situation. The novel tells the story of a Siberian peasant who makes a tragic miscalculation by deserting in the last year of the war, and the loyal wife who embraces his fate as her own. Rasputin examines the doomed relationship of these characters, sharply evoking the ties that bind individuals to their land, their community, their family. More than commentary on the nature of Soviet power or on the conduct of the war, Live and Remember is simultaneously a timeless tale with universal appeal and a very Russian story.

The concept of reincarnation has been around for thousands of years, and is a part of many religions, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism. In addition to these religious beliefs, many people believe it offers an explanation for the mysteries of life. There are children that claim to remember previous lives as adults or even animals. These claimed memories might affect the development of the child and be incorporated into the child's personality. This book presents an in-depth look at Dr. Stevenson's forty years studying children who claim to remember previous lives. It is an informative, professional read that dispels common misconceptions about reincarnation and offers an open-minded perspective. It provides an overview of the history of the belief in and evidence for reincarnation, with new material relating to birthmarks and birth defects, independent replication studies, and recent developments in genetic study. It also covers research on children, the methods used, the cases studied, and the analyses of the data. The idea of reincarnation is explored as an explanation for some unsolved problems in psychology and medicine. • INTRODUCTION TO REINCARNATION--Provides an introduction to the study of reincarnation, including a discussion of the belief in reincarnation. • VARIATIONS IN DIFFERENT CULTURES--Looks at how reincarnation is viewed in different cultures around the world and how it has changed over time. • EXPLANATORY VALUE OF THE IDEA OF REINCARNATION--The idea of reincarnation has been around for thousands of years, and many people believe it offers an explanation for the mysteries of life. • TYPES OF EVIDENCE FOR REINCARNATION--There are many types of evidence for reincarnation, including anecdotal evidence, case studies, and research studies. • TYPICAL CASES OF CHILDREN--Looks at typical cases of children who remember previous lives, with a focus on their characteristics. • METHODS OF RESEARCH--Discusses the methods of research and the various ways in which previous-life memories can be investigated. • ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF CASES--Analyzes a number of cases from the author's 40-year career.

*A New York Times bestseller* 'Using her expertise as a neuroscientist and her gifts as a storyteller, Lisa Genova explains the nuances of human memory' - Steven Pinker, Johnstone Professor of Psychology, Harvard University, and bestselling author of How The Mind Works 'No one writes more brilliantly about the connections between the brain, the mind, and the heart. Remember is a beautiful, fascinating, and important book about the mysteries of human memory - what it is, how it works, and what happens when it is stolen from us. A scientific and literary treat that you will not soon forget.' - Daniel Gilbert ( New York Times bestselling author of Stumbling on Happiness) Have you ever felt a crushing wave of panic when you can't for the life of you remember the name of that actor in the movie you saw last week, or you walk into a room only to forget why you went there in the first place? If you're over forty, you're probably not laughing. You might even be worried that these lapses in memory could be an early sign of Alzheimer's or dementia. In reality, for the vast majority of us, these examples of forgetting are completely normal. Why? Because while memory is amazing, it is far from perfect. Our brains aren't designed to remember every name we hear, plan we make or day we experience. Just because your memory sometimes fails doesn't mean it's broken or succumbing to disease. Forgetting is actually part of being human. In Remember, neuroscientist and acclaimed novelist Lisa Genova delves into how memories are made and how we retrieve them. In explaining whether forgotten memories are temporarily inaccessible or erased forever and why some memories are built to exist for only a few seconds while others can last a lifetime, we're shown the clear distinction between normal forgetting (where you parked your car) and forgetting due to Alzheimer's (that you own a car). Remember shows us how to create a better relationship with our memory - so we no longer have to fear it any more, which can be life-changing.

This book teaches you how to become a Certified Past life Regression Facilitator. Where your interest is for fun, self improvement, a new career or practice, you will find the information contained in this book fascinating and life changing. Who were you in your past life? What personality traits did you bring forward into this lifetime? Christians will especially find this book fascinating, as it allows them to follow Jesus and his belief in reincarnation. Did you know? Reincarnation was part of the early Christian belief system for almost 300 years, until the Church removed reincarnation from the Bible, then eliminated anyone who didn't follow this strict, revised doctrine, as set forth by the Church. Interesting note, some Biblical scholars believe that Jesus is the reincarnate of Buddha, who was the reincarnate of Kristina. Backed up with indisputable historical assumptions. A must read for anyone who strives for the truth about Christianity's original teachings.

Old Souls written by Tom Shroder and has been published by Simon and Schuster this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-05-17 with Body, Mind & Spirit categories.

A riveting firsthand account of one man’s mission to investigate and document some of the most astonishing phenomena of our time—children who speak of past life memory and reincarnation. All across the globe, small children spontaneously speak of previous lives, beg to be taken “home,” pine for mothers and husbands and mistresses from another life, and know things that there seems to be no normal way for them to know. From the moment these children can talk, they speak of people and events from the past—not vague stories of centuries ago, but details of specific, identifiable individuals who may have died just months, weeks, or even hours before the birth of the child in question. For thirty-seven years, Dr. Ian Stevenson has traveled the world from Lebanon to suburban Virginia investigating and documenting more than two thousand of these past life memory cases. Now, his essentially unknown work is being brought to the mainstream by Tom Shroder, the first journalist to have the privilege of accompanying Dr. Stevenson in his fieldwork. Shroder follows Stevenson into the lives of children and families touched by this phenomenon, changing from skeptic to believer as he comes face-to-face with concrete evidence he cannot discount in this spellbinding and true story.

Life-expectancy worldwide is twice what it was a hundred years ago. And because of modern medicine, many of us don't often see death up close. That makes it easy to live as if death is someone else's problem. It isn't. Ignoring the certainty of death doesn't protect us from feeling its effects throughout the lives we're living now. But this avoidance can hold us back from experiencing the powerful, everyday relevance of Jesus's promises to us. So long as death remains remote and unreal, Jesus's promises will too. But honesty about death brings hope to life. That's the ironic claim at the heart of this book. Cultivating "death-awareness" helps us bring the promises of Jesus from the hazy clouds of some other world into the everyday problems of our world—where they belong.
