Living In A Test Tube written by L. E. Lee and has been published by Xlibris Corporation this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-08 with Religion categories.

A deeply religious work about intellectual choice and the freedom to do what's good and follow the precepts of the God of Heaven. Living in a Test Tube by L.E. Lee is an inspired treatise that sees the world as a place of testing and formation of intellectual beings into those who would by choice either enter into the golden bliss of heaven or those who by choice are destined for the damnable fires of hell. With no fence straddling, he exemplifies how there are ultimately only two choices one for the good and one for the evil. The choice (or battle) between good and evil is not confined to simple equations, though ? rather, the complexity of God ́s creation is replicated in a planetary society whose primary God-inspired intellect is man. The Biblical records show how mankind has journeyed through in history making choices and living and dying by them. It also shows the different forces and factors in play throughout the passage of man's history that influences his choices. Lee clearly delineates this for his readers. Fifteen years ago, L.E. Lee was inspired to write Living in a Test Tube, but because of his experiences with lots of people having only a form of godliness and not holistically wanting to follow God at His Word, like Jonah thought of his preaching, L.E. Lee didn't think it would do any good either so he left off from completing the book until recently. Also because of his scientific background, he graphically draws upon scientific parallels to biblical references, to reflect the inspirational views of how life here on earth is primarily a test, how the planet Earth is the test tube, how the earth would be a much better environment if God's way was followed, and what it is that the great God of heaven has in store for those who serve Him. It is the hope and prayer of the author that every person who reads this book will at least engage in deeper spiritual reflection and at most turn with a sincere heart to prepare for what is to come upon this ?test tube? called planet Earth.

Recent advances in single molecule science have presented a new branch of science: single molecule cellular biophysics, combining classical cell biology with cutting-edge single molecule biophysics. This textbook explains the essential elements of this new discipline, from the state-of-the-art single molecule techniques to real-world applications in unravelling the inner workings of the cell. Every effort has been made to ensure the text can be easily understood by students from both the physical and life sciences. Mathematical derivations are kept to a minimum whilst unnecessary biological terminology is avoided and text boxes provide readers from either background with additional information. 100 end-of-chapter exercises are divided into those aimed at physical sciences students, those aimed at life science students and those that can be tackled by students from both disciplines. The use of case studies and real research examples make this textbook indispensable for undergraduate students entering this exciting field.

Continental Philosophy Of Technoscience written by Hub Zwart and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-11-18 with Science categories.

The key objective of this volume is to allow philosophy students and early-stage researchers to become practicing philosophers in technoscientific settings. Zwart focuses on the methodological issue of how to practice continental philosophy of technoscience today. This text draws upon continental authors such as Hegel, Engels, Heidegger, Bachelard and Lacan (and their fields of dialectics, phenomenology and psychoanalysis) in developing a coherent message around the technicity of science or rather, “technoscience”. Within technoscience, the focus will be on recent developments in life sciences research, such as genomics, post-genomics, synthetic biology and global ecology. This book uniquely presents continental perspectives that tend to be underrepresented in mainstream philosophy of science, yet entail crucial insights for coming to terms with technoscience as it is evolving on a global scale today. This is an open access book.

Origins Of Life written by Freeman Dyson and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1999-09-28 with Science categories.

How did life on earth originate? Did replication or metabolism come first in the history of life? In this book, Freeman Dyson examines these questions and discusses the two main theories that try to explain how naturally occurring chemicals could organize themselves into living creatures. The majority view is that life began with replicating molecules, the precursors of modern genes. The minority belief is that random populations of molecules evolved metabolic activities before exact replication existed. Dyson analyzes both of these theories with reference to recent important discoveries by geologists and chemists. His main aim is to stimulate experiments that could help to decide which theory is correct. This second edition covers the enormous advances that have been made in biology and geology in the past and the impact they have had on our ideas about how life began. It is a clearly-written, fascinating book that will appeal to anyone interested in the origins of life.

Test Tubes And Dragon Scales written by George P. Basil and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-12-16 with Social Science categories.

First published in 2010. This is a fascinating account of life in China in the 1920's and 1930's, as seen through the eyes of a young American doctor based in the ancient Szechuan city of Chunking on the Yangtse, one of China's richest, most powerful and romantic ports. Fascinated by Chinese medicine and anxious to learn more about it, Basil agrees to supervise a Chinese hospital and is plunged into an alien and exotic world both medieval and modern, where the old China of coolies and rickshaws mix with the rising militarism that would soon overtake the country. As he learns more about traditional Chinese remedies, Basil is drawn into the turbulent politics of the period, treating Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek and witnessing conflict between the Communists and the Central Government as he goes on his medical rounds, treating patients while comparing Chinese methods including feng shui with his own. Basil enters fully into the life of the city, traveling the river by sampan, dallying in markets, watching fortune tellers, entering into strange friendships and, through medicine, gaining intimate glimpses into the heart of the Chinese character, and into the complexities of their internal politics that would shortly erupt into war. He also makes insightful comparisons between the health of Chinese and western people. Vivid prose brings the city and its people to life, complimented by delightful line drawings.
