This groundbreaking book is distinctive for the explicit attention it gives to the communal, intersubjective, cultural, and linguistic embodiment of the workings of God in the world. It emphasizes not simply acting justly but living with, in, and from the justice of the triune God by which we are justified. Finally, it offers an important sacramental and liturgical grounding to the Christian understanding of both justice and the triune God. David N. Power and Michael Downey make clear to contemporary believers why a spiritual and sacramental life that is ordered by its trinitarian orientation must include the desire for justice. In short, it is an ethic of social justice that springs from contemplation of the Divine Trinity in the world.

The last century has witnessed a revival and renewal of trinitarian theology, led initially by Karl Barth. The legendary puzzles of trinitarian theology have become especially vexing in an era of changed philosophical and cultural categories, and a host of religious thinkers in the last century have tried to reformulate the main lines of thought about God's trinitarian life. Theologian Stanley Grenz here tells this story of trinitarian theology, reporting and analyzing the remarkable ferment in the discipline and discussing especially eleven theologians on such issues as: God's inner life vs. God's relationship to creation (immanent and economic trinity), social vs. psychological analogies for the relationships within God, the relationship between trinity and Christology, the feminist critique of classical categories, and how God's trinitarian life figures in evolution, social justice, and spirituality. Grenz's Introduction place this ferment historically in the course of Christian thought from the patristic period to now, while his Conclusion sets a future agenda for the doctrine and theology.

In this book, the author shares things about his life. Some of these things that happened were intentional wrongs done to him by his family and the justice system. Here he opens his life experiences and his heart to the readers to let them know that there is truth. There is a real God, the triune God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob--God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Throughout the book, the author relates to the reader and addresses the question, "Where is God?" In our world today, many people are so caught up in the things of everyday life or continual affliction and depression that the circumstances make them believe that there is no God or that God has abandoned them. It is not true but what the evil one wants you to believe. Many of our friends and family are bombarded with deceit to keep us from having a relationship with God. The deceit in politics, the news, the federal, and international agencies that are pushing us toward a one-world order and religion. Those people do not want you to know God! They want you to believe that they are God. The author uses his life to show you, dear reader, that they do not care about you but that the true God does. You see how there were times when it seemed that there was no hope, there was. There were times when doctors could not help, God did. Through everything that happened, you will see that you, too, can have that hope, that relationship with God. In your darkest hour, He is right there with you, and you are not alone. Friend, to say that God is not who He says He is or that God is not with you is a lie from the evil one. Yes, it is what he wants you to believe, and it is still a lie from the pit of hell. You may not know it, but Jesus is constantly praying for you to the Father, and the Holy Spirit is right beside you either knocking at your heart's door or living inside you if you have accepted Jesus as your Savior. That is the truth. If you have not invited Jesus into your life to be your savior so you can live eternity with him, I invite you to do so right now. Understand that the things of this life are going to pass away, and we are closer than ever before to being caught up to meet Jesus in the air and be with Him forever.

InChurch: A Reflection of the Triune God, Father Patrick Akponevwe Otor, MSP offers a new way of looking at the Church. He sees the nature and mission of the Church as an offshoot of the communion and love that binds together the persons of the Trinity. He shows how the three-tiered leadership structure of the Church mirrors the persons of the Trinity. Father Otor took time to explore and expand the term mission as it is understood in today's Church to include evangelization, inculturation, struggle for justice and liberation, ecumenism, inter-religious dialogue, protecting the earth, missio Dei, and many more. The book illustrates the person and roles of the pastor or pastoral leader both within the church and in the world. It will be a valuable resource for both teachers and students of theology, pastors, priests, pastoral leaders, missionaries, and ordinary Christians who are interested in learning more about their church and faith. Church: A Reflection of the Triune God, will inform, inspire, and challenge anyone and everyone who reads it.

"Integration is one of the goals of the spiritual journey. The vertical relationship with God that is nurtured in personal prayer and public worship needs to be integrated with our horizontal relationship with our sisters and brothers. A balanced spirituality is one of both/and not either/or. In other words, we are to be contemplatives in action. Contemplation is that loving attention as we gaze upon the mystery of God; action is reaching out to others who are in need." —from the Foreword, by Robert F. Morneau For Christians, prayer is never entirely a personal matter. Jesus taught us to pray in such a way that we are always mindful of the concerns of others, and of our relationships with others. Living God's Justice is a sourcebook of just such prayers—words that help us to orient ourselves toward others in a way that leads to right relationship with God and effective prayer. Drawing on the wisdom of the ages—from Saint Francis of Assisi to Pope John Paul II, Thomas á Kempis to Mother Teresa, Saint Augustine to Thea Bowman—this collection reminds us that we are all members of one body, one church and others depend upon our prayers as much as we depend upon theirs.

The Covenant Life written by David D. Cho and has been published by Wipf and Stock Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-05-28 with Religion categories.

This book teaches Christians about their God-given purpose in life. Many people may not know their purpose in life even after they become believers in Jesus Christ. The Bible shows that each believer is a covenant being, meaning that he/she has a God-given spiritual purpose in life (a covenant). Abraham, Joseph, Daniel, Nehemiah, Peter, John, and Paul lived covenant lives before God. It is important that each believer realizes and believes that he/she has a personal covenant with God just like these people, although his/her personal covenant is different from those of biblical figures. The covenant life is inextricably related to our life of holiness, or sanctification. Sanctification is the way through which this covenant is actualized in our life. Thus, the covenant gives the answer to the question, "Why am I here?" And sanctification gives the answer to the question, "How should I live that life in the world?" The covenant person lives as a steward of Jesus Christ. The stewardship is the guiding principle for this person as he relates to material things in the world. And justice is the guiding principle for the covenant person as he relates to other people.
