Nos dimos cuenta que la estrategia o la estrategia empresarial, cuando la tenían, sólo se concebía entre el director y algún personal directivo clave y estos se juntaban al final de cada año para hacer la Planeación Estratégica de la empresa. Debemos comentar que algunos tenían éxito, pero para la gran mayoría de ellos, la estrategia era romántica, un esfuerzo desgarrador y un calvario, pues no sucedía, debido a que el día a día, la operación diaria y todos los problemas que surgen por malos procesos o falta de estandarización, impedían tener tiempo para dar seguimiento a lo planeado en la estrategia, y como es lógico, si había otras cosas o actividades más urgentes, lo de la estrategia se posponía, y como esto sucedía frecuentemente, al final de un año no acontecía nada o muy poco de lo planeado se había llevado a cabo, y como la estrategia se hace cada año se volvían a juntar para planear el siguiente año, y bueno... pues esto es el cuento de nunca acabar. Un cuento que probablemente has escuchado desde hace años y, que como te darás cuenta, no tiene un final alentador, mucho menos feliz. In his books The Great Plains, The Great Frontier, and The Texas Rangers, historian Walter Prescott Webb created an enduring image of fearless, white, Anglo male settlers and lawmen bringing civilization to an American Southwest plagued with "savage" Indians and Mexicans. So popular was Webb's vision that it influenced generations of historians and artists in all media and effectively silenced the counter-narratives that Mexican American writers and historians were concurrently producing to claim their standing as "gente decente," people of worth. These counter-narratives form the subject of Leticia M. Garza-Falcón's study. She explores how prominent writers of Mexican descent-such as Jovita González, Américo Paredes, María Cristina Mena, Fermina Guerra, Beatriz de la Garza, and Helena María Viramontes -have used literature to respond to the dominative history of the United States, which offered retrospective justification for expansionist policies in the Southwest and South Texas. Garza-Falcón shows how these counter-narratives capture a body of knowledge and experience excluded from "official" histories, whose "facts" often emerged more from literary techniques than from objective analysis of historical data.

Lorca's Drawings and Poems focuses on the act of reading Lorca's drawn or written texts and how the reading of one genre can inform the reading of another. Throughout the study, poetry and drawings from every period of Lorca's career are examined. Selected drawings are interpreted; next, poems contemporary to those drawings are analyzed in their light. In chapter 1, a common poetics is extracted from Lorca's comments about his drawings and writing and placed in the context of the literary and artistic movements of his day. The evolution of the literary criticism that examines Lorca's drawings is traced and reviewed. Lorca's texts are examined from varying perspectives in the chapters that follow. In chapter 2, drawings and poems from 1927 to 1928 are analyzed in light of Lorca's participations in artistic and literary movements during those years. Texts from each period of Lorca's work are read in chapter 3 in a study of Lorca's employment of space and his depiction of setting and subject in his drawings and poems. Such a chronological approach allows the reading of Lorca's texts to reveal the evolution of his aesthetics as well as to identify the imagery and techniques that remained consistent throughout his career.
