This book is mostly about me, the things I've been through, and the people I met in life. I wrote all of these poems while I was in jail. It starts off in one day that went bad, then continues how things can get better. My book should basically let you inside my world. Every poem I wrote is about someone I know, someone I knew, or stuff that had occurred in my life. This book should bring you into a life of an inmate. This is a real, good, family book; whoever struggled or got into trouble can understand it. I want my readers to know that just because you're in jail, or prison that doesn't mean your life is over. You can still do something with your life. I believe everybody deserves a second change. A friend told me everything happens for a reason in life, afterwards I began doing something productive with my time. You may think it's strange, but now I found out what my true talent is. I should be writing poems for people who struggle in life as I did.

For thirty-one months he thinks his lawyer is fighting to win his case. Three days before the trial is to start, the prosecutor threatens him. He is told that the government is going to arrest his twenty-two year old son if he doesn’t plead guilty to all of what is on the indictment. This book of poems was written with inspiration and from the heart. It came to pass as if God was speaking to me giving me the words to put on paper, the poems are spiritually discerned and written out of love. At times, I knew it was God speaking to me as you will find as you read these poems as well as in the books to follow. This book of poems was meant to inspire those that read them, whether they make you sad, happy, or encourage you. It was God who seen me through a five year serve out incarcerations. That is five years straight, from 1997 to the end of 2001. I have been out for 15 years and have not looked back. You have to be down and out, it is then that you will call out to God, "God help me." So, I am truly grateful that he did just that. I spent my time reading and writing a lot, also taking care of my physical body by working out and doing a lot of walking. As I walked, I had a little pocket version of the New Testament and I would read scriptures until I memorized them. One of the first scriptures I memorized was Proverbs 3:5-6. The scripture says "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, lean not unto thine own understanding in all thy ways acknowledge him, and he will direct thy paths." (King James Version) May you be inspired and blessed as you read these poems. God has blessed me and he wants me to share that it was Him that changes life. May you find comfort and peace as you read these poems. God Bless Ray Tapp

"LuvLock" is a collection of poems, written by Author Prince Ami. Written over the course of many years, Prince Ami has poured his heart into every word of this Title. Although he is not much of a talker, he has found it easier to express himself through his poetry. From as early as the age of 13, writing has become a way for him to demonstrate his intelligence and a means to vent when angry, cry when sad, and experience happiness even when no one else is around. Prince Ami has all of his love locked inside the words he writes, hence the title "LuvLock." His reason for publishing his work is so that all the love he has in his heart, will be able to flow freely throughout the hearts and minds of each reader! Prince Ami finds hope in writing, just as Daniel wrote to escape the tyranny of Nebuchadnezzar, or as Paul wrote to escape the atrocities of Rome. Writing has become his means of escaping the injustices. In writing Prince Ami has found hope that Justice will one day prevail. Every droplet of ink in the Bic used to jot down these words are in earnest hope that one day, someone in someway may be touched, and moved to act not just for him or people like him, but for America who has the highest incarceration rate per capitol of any civilized Nation in the world!

Collected Poems Of Bob Kaufman written by Bob Kaufman and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-10 with Poetry categories.

"Bob Kaufman's life is written on mirrors in smoke."--Jack Kerouac "So much did he embody a French tradition of the poet as outsider, madman, and outcast, that in France, Kaufman was called the Black Rimbaud."--David Henderson "He was an original voice. No one else talked like him. No one else wrote poetry like him."--Lawrence Ferlinghetti TheCollected Poems of Bob Kaufman brings together every known surviving poem by this major African-American surrealist, including the three books published in his lifetime,Solitudes Crowded with Loneliness,Golden Sardine, andThe Ancient Rain. With over 30 previously uncollected works,Collected Poems is the first comprehensive presentation of this truly original, streetwise autodidact and member of the Beat Generation. Included here are a foreword by devorah major, reminiscences by editors Raymond Foye and Neeli Cherkovski, and a biographical timeline by editor Tate Swindell, which chronicles this elusive poet's movements across the country and around the world.Collected Poems is a landmark poetic achievement and marks Kaufman's welcome return to City Lights Publishers. Praise forCollected Poems of Bob Kaufman: "With this magnetic new unveiling Bob Kaufman trenchantly sunders endemic retrocausal error and neglect that his casted his fate into a secondary enclave of lesser mastery. To set the story straight it was his spirit that helped sire the Ginsberg that we know and not vice versa. It was he who magically hoisted the invisible umbrella under which Kerouac and others such as Corso were enabled to protractedly flourish. Arrested 39 times for poetic brilliance via bravura he was the absolute contrary of the sterile academic scrounging for golden verbal eggs. Never concerned with immediate notoriety he passed across unerring emptiness as a poetic lahar sweeping in all directions at once. He volcanically en-veined the Beats as a mirage enveloped Surrealist; not as a formal poet, but one, like Rimbaud, who embodied butane. Following the scent of his butane on one anonymous North Beach afternoon led Philip Lamantia to audibly utter to me that Bob Kaufman as per incandescent singularity is 'our poet.'"--Will Alexander "Bob Kaufman is one our most vulnerable, mysterious and beautiful of poets, a nomadic maudit, surrealist saint of the streets, votary of silence, the consummate Outrider with trickster imagination and visionary power. What does it take to be such a poet-man, veils/layers of existence laced with hardship, suffering? Not many like this anymore. The Black American Rimbaud, as he was christened in France. His poems make me weep and bow with humility and wonder. I last saw him, shape-shifting shaman on Ken Kesey's stage in Oregon, swirling in a torque of rage, enlightenment, and prescience. Pure product of America's madness: fury and tenderness. The writing is complex and lays its soul baring down on jazz inflected syllables and riffs for all to read and tremble within. No serious canon is complete without this insistent rhythm, poetic acuity, and a body's last resort to sing."--Anne Waldman "Uplifting the voice of this under-sung literary master to future's light is the mission of theCollected Poems of Bob Kaufman. This poet's poet on the cliff edge of no ledge is still continuing to foster new surrealizations. Read this bebopian wordsmith, his pen turned saxophone and ink notes that are black tears."--Kamau Daaood

"Ace Boggess's The Prisoners gives voice to those forgotten Americans behind the ever increasing miles of razor wire. Complicated with the mixed emotions of regret and defiance, of loss and perseverance, of hope and frustration, these aren't just persona poems, nor are they just poems of witness; rather these poems are metaphors, too, for the way each of us may feel jailed by circumstance only to find a kind of freedom in the possibilities of poetry." --Gerry LaFemina, author of Vanishing Horizon and Notes for the Novice Ventriloquist

I was only a child, ten years of age, when I was first incarcerated in the juvenile prison system. Locked up in a small brick cage with a solid wood door containing a thick, shatterproof glass window. So began the journey that would lead me here – to DEATH ROW. I’m simply just Herminio Serna now, who was “consciously awakened” to this living nightmare of awaiting execution, here on California’s Death Row, in San Quentin State Prison. Incarcerated since August 1991. Condemned to this death in November 1997 after a six year trial. Held in isolation, solitary confinement, while undergoing that sham appearance of a trial. And once condemned I was buried alive here, in a concrete cage, entombed inside the entrails of this beast, inside the infamous Adjustment Center, (San Quentin’s “Hole”/S.H.U.) for another fourteen years. A total of 20 years – two decades of “unusual cruelty.” As if the death penalty wasn’t enough of a punishment!
