Die Schriften des Paulus sind keine systematischen Handlungstheorien. Gleichwohl zeigen sie wiederkehrende Normen, Begründungsstrukturen und überindividuelle Geltungsansprüche. Diese "implizite Ethik" soll anhand eines speziellen Analyserasters deskriptiv erfasst werden, was auch eine Methode der "ethischen Auslegung" biblischer Schriften überhaupt vorstellt. Mittels Anbindung an Terminologie und Theorieniveau gegenwärtiger Ethik-Diskurse kann die biblische Ethik somit nicht nur präziser erfasst werden, sondern auch anschlussfähiger sein für aktuelle Debatten. Die "implizite Ethik" des Paulus eröffnet hierbei überraschende Einsichten. So wird ein Normenpluralismus erkennbar, der an moderne Gesellschaften erinnert; ferner können spezielle Reflexionsformen wie z.B. die "metaphorische" oder "mimetische Ethik" beschrieben werden, die jenseits reiner Argumentation liegen und in den Kontext der Etho-Poietik und Lebenskunst weisen. Weiterhin wird ein Differenzierungsniveau gewonnen, das alte plakative Frontstellung überwinden hilft, wenn z.B. die fortwährende Geltung der jüdischen Thora bei gleichzeitiger Relativierung z.B. gegenüber der "Freiheits"-Norm in einer komparativen Wertehierarchie beschrieben werden kann. Indem Paulus immer wieder zur eigenständigen Entscheidungsfindung ermutigt, erweist sich seine Ethik unerwartet modern. Wenn allerdings die Interessen des Einzelnen mit denen der Gemeinschaft in Konflikt geraten, plädiert Paulus deutlich für eine altruistisch-kommunitaristische Position, die man als 'Heteronomie zweiter Ordnung' bezeichnen könnte. Die Liebe erweist sich dabei als die leitende ethische Grundnorm, die gleichwohl auch in Begründungszusammenhänge eingebunden bleibt. Schließlich kann auch die theologische Basis dieser Ethik jenseits des simplifizierenden Indikativ-Imperativ-Modells differenziert erschlossen und intersubjektiv kommuniziert werden. Das Buch möchte auf diese Weise einen Weg aufzeigen, wo und wie biblische Ethik - weit über Paulus hinaus - theoretisch durchdrungen und gegenwärtig relevant werden kann.

Der sekundäre Zweck dient den Lesenden des Weiteren, um über die Möglichkeit zu verfügen, vom Wissen des Autors über seine Erfahrungen mit seinem erleuchteten Meister während seinem Aufenthalt in einem Klosterkomplex in Indien und von den Erfahrungen nach dieser Zeit zu profitieren, Einblicke über die Werte, Prinzipien, sowie Wissenschaft der Veda-agamischen Lebensweise die rein auf der Thematik der Erleuchtung begründet ist, (heutzutage als Hinduismus vereinfacht bezeichnet) als auch rein von der kognitiven Substanz dessen antiken Schriften zu gewinnen. Der Autor ist bemüht, die Komplexität der oben genannten Sachverhalte weitestgehend in einen Zusammenhang stellend zu vereinfachen, um eine entsprechende Nachvollziehbarkeit und effektiven Nutzen zu gewährleisten. Des Weiteren ist der tertiäre Zweck vom Inhalt dieses Buches, die sogenannten übernatürlichen tatsächlichen Erfahrungen des Autors, die von der breiten Gesellschaft als spirituell oder rein subjektiv eingestuft werden, mit reiner Rationalität zu entmystifizieren, über kulturelle sowie religiöse Meinungsverschiedenheiten und Unterschiede hinaus den Kern des menschlichen Kollektivs so sinnvoll wie möglich zu erfassen und Authentizität in ein helleres Licht zu rücken. In diesem Buch ist der Dreh und Angelpunkt der vorzustellenden Informationen, wie viel positive Veränderung die bewusste Festlegung der eigenen Identität bewirken kann, wie diese ursächlich konstruiert ist, inwiefern dieses Vorgehen neue Maßstäbe und Möglichkeiten für ein Individuum setzt und wie es sich auf eine stabile und gesunde, sowie beschleunigte Weise multidimensional weiterentwickeln kann. Der Autor beginnt in den ersten Kapiteln damit, eine ”göttliche Identität” vorzustellen, welche in diesem Beispiel aus der Veda-agamischen Zeit stammt. Es ist dem Autor bewusst, dass “götltliche Identitäten” in der heutigen Zeit fälschlicherweise als umstrittene Ideale und psychosoziale Krankheitsbilder vorurteilhaft kategorisiert werden können. Es wird diesbezüglich darauf hingewiesen, dass die Bezeichnung dieser Identität von den Lesenden von diesem Werk nach belieben frei gewählt und umbenannt, beziehungsweise ausgetauscht werden kann. Diese Identität wird aufrund der zu vereinfachenden Verständlichkeit zur Hilfe als “die Identität der Einheit” bezeichnet und ist die eigentliche Basis, auf welcher die nachfolgenden Konzepte aufbauen. In dem nachfolgenden Beispiel wird eine Entität namens “Paramashiva” hinzugezogen, welche mit der Bezeichnung “Identität der Einheit” gleichbedeutend ist, diese verkörpert und dem Lesenden untertützt, Bewusstsein besser zu verstehen, um mehr Bewusstsein zu manifestieren. Das Streben nach der Ursache aller Ursachen ist bereits der Keim von Superbewusstsein und Genialität in uns Menschen, welcher in sich selbst eine unabhängige Intelligenz ist, welche zum Erblühen verholfen werden kann, insofern die Grundannahmen sowie das Grundverständnis über diesen Keim in Übereinstimmung mit der Existenzweise dieser Intelligenz sind. Es existiert ein reales Beziehungsverhältnis zu dieser Intelligenz, die bewusst erweckt werden kann und sich durch uns Individuen manifestiert, insofern wir den Auslöser für die Paralleluniversensynergie verstehen.

The fourth volume of the collected papers of the ICLA congress “The Many Languages of Comparative Literature” includes articles that study thematic and formal elements of literary texts. Although the question of prioritizing either the level of content or that of form has often provoked controversies, most contributions here treat them as internally connected. While theoretical considerations inform many of the readings, the main interest of most articles can be described as rhetorical (in the widest sense) – given that the ancient discipline of rhetoric did not only include the study of rhetorical figures and tropes such as metaphor, irony, or satire, but also that of topoi, which were originally viewed as the ‘places’ where certain arguments could be found, but later came to represent the arguments or intellectual themes themselves. Another feature shared by most of the articles is the tendency of ‘undeclared thematology’, which not only reflects the persistence of the charge of positivism, but also shows that most scholars prefer to locate themselves within more specific, often interdisciplinary fields of literary study. In this sense, this volume does not only prove the ongoing relevance of traditional fields such as rhetoric and thematology, but provides contributions to currently flourishing research areas, among them literary multilingualism, literature and emotions, and ecocriticism.

The goal of the present study unfolds in the following four ways. First, in analyzing Pauline writings (primarily Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians) it can be demonstrated that the Apostle can be described as an ethicist. The hypothesis operative here is that in the sources, despite their occasional and situational character and their epistolary form, one can recognize a coherent system of grounds for behavior (i.e., ethics). I call this recognizable ethics “implicit ethics.” Secondly, this work pursues an explicit ethical interpretation of Paul’s writings. What does it mean to read these texts through an ethical lens? I here offer an approach with which one can decipher the ethical content of a historical text. This methodology for ethical analysis (so called ‘organon’) is not only applicable to Paul’s writings, but can also provide an impetus for the ethical interpretation of other NT texts and even for the literature of early Christianity and the Bible more generally. The variety of forms and the complexity of the reflection in Paul’s letters can, in a third point, enrich the discourse of theological ethics. It will be seen, that the rationale for his ethics is pluralistic and simply cannot be described in a one-sided manner as simply being a “deontological ethics of norms.” Along these lines, a fourth element is found in stimulating interdisciplinary debates concerning ethics. If one is able to examine and describe the norms and grounds of justification in Biblical ethics using the language and forms of description utilized in modern ethical theory, biblical ethics could once again gain a voice that can be taken seriously in the modern discussion of values. The point is not to have Scripture per se join the discussion but for these texts to function as a “laboratory” (Paul Ricoeur) in which ethical speech and thought relevant for contemporary concerns can be inspired and encouraged. In a concluding chapter this dialogue is already started by describing specific aspects of Pauline ethics against the background or moral philosophical debate, e.g. “bodily ethics – beyond hedonism”, “ethics of relinquishing – beyond contractual ethics” or “ethics of love beyond Eudaimonian ethics”.
