En la Conferencia Mundial sobre "El papel de la Universidad en la lucha por la paz", realizada en Viena, Austria entre el 25 y 29 de agosto de 1969, Viktor Frankl pronuncia un discurso donde utiliza la palabra Monantropismo, y nos dice: "La mera supervivencia no puede ser el valor supremo. Cuando la existencia humana no apunta más allá de sí misma, la permanencia en la vida deja de tener sentido, es imposible". "Pero si la humanidad quiere encontrar un sentido que sea válido para todos, debe dar un nuevo paso. Después de haber alcanzado, hace miles de años, el monoteísmo, la fe en un solo Dios, debe llegar a creer en una sola humanidad. Hoy necesitamos más que nunca un monantropismo" (Viktor Frankl, en El Hombre doliente pág. 53 y 54. Editorial Herder. 2009). Hagamos que la vida valga cada día. Finalmente, no sabemos cuánto durará. Pero sí sabemos que el Hoy es nuestra posibilidad y realidad. No perdamos cada momento que la vida nos regala. Lo que hacemos en la vida resuena en la eternidad.
