The purpose of this review is to present a short account of the railways having their termini in London; an authentic statement of their mileage; their financial condition at the present time, with some reference to their history; the amount of their revenue as derived from passenger and freight traffic and from miscellaneous sources; the number of passengers conveyed annually by them; and the proportion per cent, of working expenditure to gross receipts.
